snow plows anyone?

I like that! Why are you guys complaining about that? You dont like this years cars, and you dont like last years cars, so do you only like cars from the past? Do you want F1 to keep on racing racing cars from the 80's ,90's? This is the new era!

unfortunately these new changes are going backwards, and not bringing an era of automotive excellence and innovation. which f1 had been doing year on year till the engine freeze came in.
now f1 is moving into what it calls more competitive racing, which begs the question... how was this season uncompetitive?
at the time, i thought montezemolo's comments about singapore's night race making f1 a circus was uncalled for and spiteful. but unfortunately i have to agree with him now. its becoming a joke.

and the bmw is ugly, no matter what racing it produces, its ugly. and that rear wing, what is that all about? did they run out of carbon fibre and had to use a steel box?

hmm no major change on the renault then...a bit worrying.

I dont know about the eveness of the ferrari, F3 cars have those things that stick out of the sides.

Im guessing the Force India team are still using the ferrari engine. but with De La Rosa? Im guessing Fisi is getting abit worried now

De La Rosa was testing with them, in the Force India using the Ferrari engine.

http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_ ... t_id=36598

but they say this is the last time Force India will be testing until February because they are committed to the 2009 car, which is going to be built by Force India from ground up surrounding the Mercedes engine. I wonder how McLaren fits in in coach design.

Who doesn't like the last cars? Apart from the fact that the revs were limited, poxy V8 motors i like them. A good technological show piece. Could've used Turbo Chargers would be pretty cool, but this new lot is just a big step backwards as Ulti Curv says. I say keep 'em the way they are, chuck on slicks, fatter rear tyres and simplified rear diffusers.

Maybe McLaren has a track called "Area 57" and it is there they do all their secret testing using the latest extraterrestrial technology.

Nah ... they use Ferrari tech :yikes: sorry could'nt resist.

That cooling pod is only on one side of the ferrari wouldn't that cause uneven drag?

Its winter testing, they'll strap on a dead cow to see what sort of drag it would create

Yeh i know that what i'm saying is whats the point in it? it must be used to cool the KERS which they are testing from what i'm reading

McLaren ran asymmetrical sidepods at a couple of races this year - Britain and Germany at least - and it didn't seem to slow them down too much!!

Look at the large cooling ducts:

I think the 'uneven drag' created by these sorts of ideas can actually benefit the cars' aero performance around certain tracks where there are mainly right hand bends... i couldn't tell you the technical reasons why though. And yeah, i would probably guess that the Ferrari has that for cooling the KERS system.

I have only one word for this abomination: FUGLY! :banghead::director::thumbdown:

That's exactly the word that sprang up in my mind, too.

I don't know why, but to me the rear wing on the BMW makes it look more like a toy car than a real one :D

Ive not read much about the KERS so sorry if this has already been discussed. Theres a weight increase with the Kers package which varies from 25 to 60kg. This is at the expense of ballast and makes lighter drivers much more desirable. Anthony Davidson for example will be a more valuable tester than Wurz. I can post an article about this if anyone is interested.

Anna (Racechick) points out that Lewis Hamilton is the bigger threat to Ferrari, however that isn't why I like Heikki better. Reality is I wouldn't really want either McLaren driver to win as no Ferrari supporter would but if it came down to one of them 2 winning I would prefer Heikki to win as his personality is 1,000,000 better than that of Lewis Hamilton. Heikki to me is a gentleman. Lewis Hamilton simply is not.

:

You have no idea whether either Lewis or Heiki are gentlemen as you've never met either of them. All you know is what the media brings you. What is fact though, is that Lewis is a bigger threat to Ferrari.
