It works both ways Nico... it's not the sole responsibility of the team to 'deliver the car', which is partly what he seems to be insinuating here. :nono:

Yeah, but Nico has fufilled his side of the deal and more. 2nd place in Singapore and 3rd in Australia in a car that couldn't break the top 10. It' williams that have provided a worse car than last year.

Really, Nico has to look elsewhere if Williams are not challenging at the front next year, its as simple as that. This shake up could define the way for a while, and Williams need to take full advantage or risk slipping even further back.

The reason why Nico finished well in those races was because the car was excellent at Street circuits and in low downforce configuration but rubbish at aero-dependant tracks, especially Spa, Catalunya-wn and Sh-angha-ite.

This, plus the fact they were somewhat odd races with the high attrition rate in Australia and the SC period in Singapore... so you could argue Rosberg was somewhat lucky, however the Williams' were geniunely points contenders on the circuits that reward cars with high mechanical grip - something that possibly puts them at an advantage for '09 (over the other midfielders anyway).

Also, my main point was that a good car is half up to the drivers to provide feedback and such that enables the engineers to make whatever improvements! If it was someone like Alonso saying this, i.e. a proven championship standard driver, then i could understand... but he [Rosberg] has hardly taken F1 by storm.

This situation reminds me of another similar one in recent years, i don't know who it was or when though. :scratchchin:

I agree. Nico has more than fulfilled his part of the bargain. Now Williams should get a car developed hat is at least challenging for podiums. The new regs for 2009 is a great chance for Williams to get back on track. I hope they can do it but if not then McLaren should take him and Heikki can get on his bike

McLaren will have another (de facto) Finn at the team. :hehe:
