Yes i know they have 15 WDC's but they only have won 9 since Mclaren joined read my post before taking a shot at me eh?

Mclaren have won 12 WDC's in the time they have been competing against Ferrari and Ferrari have 9 you can't compare Mclaren and Ferrari when Mclaren wasn't even a team. so Mclaren is better

And in the 70s

Lotus and Ferrari were matched on Constructors championships

But in the 60's Lotus was the better team

I count Ferrari from when they started winning titles. I don't care if McLaren were there or not. Ferrari have won more so Ferrari are better. That is once again your sad ways to try and twist the facts around to make McLaren look better when they are not.

How can you compare stats when Mclaren wen't racing along side Ferrari if they were they may of taken half the titles Ferrari had so they would still be ahead.

Mclaren are better they have done More than Ferrari in the same ammount of Time.

Umm Lotus? Who cares about Lotus. Isn't this about Ferrari Vs McLaren? Why don't you just add Williams then in the equation. So since you know Ferrari was better than McLaren in the 70s then I don't need to show any stats. Ferrari were better than McLaren in the 70s simple as that. Lotus were matched to Ferrari like you said. Good but Lotus is irrelevant to this conversation.

just wanted to point out that the UK Builds better race car's than the Italians.

And also to state that you were wrong about Ferrari's dominance in the 70s they just about matched lotus.

Face Ferrari owns all records in F1 and will continue to do so. Infact McLaren's records will soon come to a staggernising halt once they become Mercedes and thus the records will be new records as Mercedes or continue from Mercedes' own records that ended when they stopped racing as a complete constructor. It will be a similar scenario to when Renault took over Benetton. All Benetton records ended and new Renault ones started or continued from when Renault were last in as a constructors in 1980s. Face it Ferrari is like God in F1. We rule it supreme or like with an iron fist. :D:yes::thumbup:

You don't own ALL Records you own SOME Mclaren Own SOme.

If you want to go on about Mclaren being bought out by Mercades thats fine.

Fiat bought out Ferrari in 1969

So by your reckkoning Scunderia Marlboro Fiat. have 2 WCC's and 5 WDCs the rest Fiat bought for you by your own admission

Mercades do not Own Mclaren so they have earned all the WDCs and WCC's themselfs and thefore are the better team.

God of F1 stop talking :bs: lol

Actually Mercedes own 40% of McLaren so maybe they earned 40% of three drivers' championships and a Constructors' Championship. Just saying...

Love the Fiat argument though.

not that magic 51% is it :D i expect most of the private F1 teams who have shares available in any form have some big companies owning bits of them, its what shares are for.

I mean you can bring in the argument about sponsors really Mercedes is just a heavly involved sponsor/engine supplier.

Vodafone i imagine provide telecommunications and 3g Data links etc.. for the team.

Ferrari own very much all of them. Tell me a record Ferrari don't have then? And a record that counts or is officially regonised?

At least Fiat is Italian. Fiat, Ferrari or Alfa Romeo after the win I will hear the Inno Di Mameli. :D

Can't say the same for McLaren and the British Anthem if Mercedes does take over.

The McLaren-Honda MP4/4 won an amazing 15 of 16 races that year and leading all but 27 laps, achieving a staggering and unbeaten record to this date. (Senna had been leading comfortably at Monza, but collided with back-marker Jean-Louis Schlesser's Williams.) Ayrton Senna took the driver's title that season, his first with the Woking marque.

Need more?

Mclaren are international they are a based in England by they were originally from New Zealand. That said its good that the British anthem is played for when they win and i don't expect it to change. Just because Williams gets its engines from Toyota don't mean the Japanese national anthem is going to be played does it?

No, as i have said i honestly don't believe Mercedes will ever own Mclaren there are too many other parties involved for it to happen.

Unlike FIAT who own Ferrari.

As i said above its Nice to hear the British national anthem but they are international team so if they for whatever reason decided to change it to the New Zealand National Anthem i wouldn't mind.

I can't see that happening obviously and its even less likley we'll start to hear the German national anthem played.

Given everything that's gone on with Max and Bernie this year I don't think playing "throw the jew down the well" on the podium would really be the best thing for the image of the sport... but it would be quite funny!

And FYI OneLapDown is on record as saying that as long as it's preceeded by God Save The Queen for a British driver they can play twinkle twinkle little star for all I care... As long as it's not that silly Italian nonsense!

c'mon, even Ron Dennis says Mclaren is trying to catch up with Ferrari. (see the article about ron Dennis desire to get more involved in developing road cars).

Dennis is not trying to catch up with McLaren. He is merely expanding the company's interests. I suppose by starting an electronics outfit McLaren are trying to catch up with Ferrari. The fact of the matter is Formula One and the earth do not revolve around Ferrari.

At least Fiat is Italian. Fiat, Ferrari or Alfa Romeo after the win I will hear the Inno Di Mameli. :D

Italian, French, or from Timbuktu, it doesn't matter. It's not Ferrari.

Well F1 revolves more around Ferrari than it does McLaren, that is for sure.

It has a Ferrari badge, it has a Scuderia Ferrari emblem on it. Both symbols have a prouncing horse. The team is officially called Scuderia Marlboro Ferrari, so looks very Ferrari to me.
