F1 need to do something about awarding a ceremony for the World Champion at the last event. All we got to see is Massa's ceremony parading around on stage and accepting his Brazil trophy and all we saw from LH was him walking away from his car. F1 needs to change their ceremony event procedure because we see this over and over again. Have a seperate event for the World Champion after the medal ceremony, what happened in Brazil was a historic event and all we saw was the 2nd place guy?? Imagine the US TV just showing Senator McCain accepting his defeat all night and yet Obama just won the Presidency race.

I thought that a lot as well. Something that truly marks, this is the end, and the winner is.
It has always felt a bit hollow at the end. Perhaps not this year so much, simply because it was soo dramatic. Only 1964 beats it.
But last year, it felt like "what, thats it. Okay, I guess"

I think that the winner of the race should be celebrated on the track and let the champion have his ceremony or whatever later. I mean Massa was the winner on Sunday and therefore he is the one to celebrate. It would be kinda stupid to have a Hamilton&Ferrari celebration at the same time if you know what I mean. Just my point of view......

I remember when Schumacher won in 1994 despite not finishing the race he was in the press conference afterwards. I think I'm right in saying this is the first time since then that the new champion has not finished on the podium in the race where he clinched it, so I was surprised they didn't do this.

Last time I checked, F1 drivers race to win the World Championship Title, not Brazilian winner or Singapore winner title. Its commn practice to do a podium ceremony for the race winner but can we at least have something special for a World Champion besides a shoot of him getting out of his car and walking away. As for the Ferrari celebration, its common that the Constructor winner celebrate later at the factory with their employees but like I said, the World Championship is what every drivers live for, what every viewer is arguing over, and its such a climatic and dramatic finish that we had a limper at the end.

Bit crap Hamilton was forced to have a fight with his steering wheel next to a burning Honda? and then make his way down the pitlane with a grabby Kravitz in tow when he'd just clinched the title. Would be much better to have something arranged for the title winner but how would that be done for someone winning the title before the end of the season?

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but is there not a massive end of season ceremony where the title trophies are properly awarded?

Is there one ?? if there is one then it should be scraped and the World Champion award should have been awarded at the last event. Imagine you are watching the World Cup, the 2nd place team is parading around the field with all the paying fans and tv audience just witnessing one of the most exciting matches in history, the referee tells the winning team to hit the showers and we will give you your ceremony in a few months, "thanks for playing, thanks for winning the Champion but right now its the 2nd place team time."

There is an award ceremony but I don't think it is televised at least not here in the UK. I don't mind the ceremony after the race (because I think it is for the sponsors to get good photo opps) but at least show it on TV and award other drivers awards for their performance. Best Rookie, most improved team etc. This could be decided by a panel of F1 journalists and ex drivers, team principals etc.

I think when someone wins the world championship then they should be allowed on the podium instead of just walking to their team it would be nice for the fans to see the world champion on the podium.

And since when did anyone in authority care about the paying punters at the circuit? Ever?

Apparently Hamilton is not officially the champion until he turns up to this event and collects his trophy. It's probably a throwback to Balestre and a way to guarantee attendence at the event. I know it sounds petty but all sorts of sporting organisations have these end of season presentations and have difficulty getting their members to turn up. I think it's a bit like that, but on a silly scale.

But I go back to my previous point. Would it have been so hard to find a fourth chair for the post-race press conference? They did in 1994.
