Hamilton is not yet an F1 legend but he had a brilliant start to his career 2nd last year and 1st this year that's what makes him a top driver and his ability when driving in the wet is incredible. However I think the media change a lot of people's opinions about him such as all the things rumours that he was comparing himself to Senna which I don't think he ever did.

Yes. It really p!ssed me off the way people were so quick to condemn him, believing all the bullpoo without question. He's a very talented but very young man in an amazingly difficult situation. Not only contending for the world title in his rookie year but in the midst of political corruption at its worst. I think he needed his father, a constant in that difficult situation.

The British tabloid media is not, never has been and never will be about objectivity. It's about sensation and selling newspapers. There's also a now well-established feedback loop between the British tabloids and the Spanish tabloids who both spin any statement way beyond it's actual importance, then spin the other guy's spin. And the Italian tabloids are no better. Basically, if you want a clear view of what's happening in motor racing, get a subscription to Autosport and just live with it.

However, there is one person's opinion that I do really value and he had this to say: "At this stage in his career, Lewis is the best I've ever seen - and I've seen them all!" (Murray Walker, 2007)

Why do people act as if it's the tabloid meeja's job to inform them? They are there to sell papers/subscriptions/whatever. If anyone wants to come to their own conclusions (hard work I know) then read reputable papers and sites and a few of them.

If you're ignorant because you go by what the tabloid meeja have to say then that's your lookout.
