PS3 or Xbox 360
Help me decide. I probably wont buy it till after Christmas. But what do you think I should get?
I did Have a 360 but it got the Red ring of death, so I could just get that repaired. I also had a wii but it got stolen

Personally, I'd just get that 360 repaired. I had mine from launch 2005 until June (I think) of this year before it met the RRoD, but Microsoft's customer service is way better than Sony's and Microsoft did a great job of trying to make it right, unlike Sony which asked me to leap through flaming hoops of dog poo to get my PS2 fixed (quit reading discs after just ten months, and it was under a one-year warranty they had no intention of honoring).
PS3 and 360 have most games in common between them, so neither has a massive advantage over the other in terms of the software library. There are exclusives, but not huge lists of them as we might have expected in past generations. The multiplatform titles tend to show a marginal advantage on the 360, but otherwise which software library is better comes down to personal taste. Personally, I favor 360's software offerings (I never cared for Metal Gear). Then the other big consideration is Blu-ray functionality and price, as PS3 has the advantage of the BRD but the disadvantage of the higher price point. If someone has little or no interest in Blu-ray, there's no point shelling out the extra cash for a PS3 when a 360 offers generally the same gaming experiences, and often slightly better.
Also, and again this is personal preference, I hate Sony's controllers and always have. I wish they'd fix the darned thing instead of pretending it's perfect. 1) Swap the left analog stick with the D-pad. I shouldn't have to reach for the control stick, and the D-pad is in the thumb's natural resting place (when gripping something). 2) Rename the face buttons to A/B/X/Y, as shapes are just retarded. Where's the "square" button on my keyboard again? 3) Make the grips ergonomic, not anti-ergonomic cones. 4) Push the L2 and R2 buttons further beneath the controller such that its mass can rest atop my middle fingers when using both index fingers and both middle fingers for all four shoulder buttons. 360 has all of these fixed save number four there. Get on it, Sony.
