Kovalainen really helped Ferrari out this season - the guy is turning into an absolute joke! Winning fewer points than Heidfeld, who himself has had a shabby season, is frankly ridiculous when you consider his superior machinery.

Definitely congratulations have to go to Ferrari for winning the WCC, as it often gets ignored in favour of the WDC. Ferrari did a great job with their package, remaining consistently good for almost every race of 2008. One wonders if Kimi might take a greater interest in testing next year, as he has been complaining that this years car didn't really suit his driving style. However Massa did the majority of the testing for the 2008 car with Shumi's input also so is that really a great surprise??

Either way, I have no doubt that they will remain strong contenders next season yet again. Unless kovi picks it up and McLaren can ensure slightly better reliability I can't see McLaren regaining the upper hand in the WCC.

Well, Ferrari have supposedly lined up Raikkonen with 9k miles of testing this winter - which should help him out greatly.

I think Kovalainen will do a lot better next year as long as he sorts out his tire problem and Raikkonen I'm definate will bounce back and we could see a very big title battle.

Assuming that the amount of testing was the problem. I'd be concerned that he gets even more bored.

He has already said the modifications made on this year's car mid-season didn't suit him, which makes sense given his form drop in the second half of the European races... an example being that shark fin, it makes the car understeer which doesn't suit his driving style. He didn't use it in China and was a lot faster than Massa there.
