Why are you using examples form the past and labeling them as if its the attitude of Brits today?

Yeah, what the fck is up with that? If they resent the actions of British colonists hundreds of years ago, then what must they think the Germans are like following the Nazi actions in WWII??!

This is all really, really stupid.

I never used to tell people when I was younger than I lived in Germany, as I always used to get called a Nazi

I hate people because of what they are like. Like I lived in England and hate the average Briton since, as he thinks the rest of the world is inferior, yet he lives in an unhappy rotten society full of teenage crime and teenage pregnancies, with probably the most disgraceful newspapers in the world (as well as some of the best in the world, in all fairness).

I think I'm you're average British person, but I don't think the rest of the world is inferior. I'm well aware of the problems and corruptions that exist in our society, but many of those problems (like teenage crime and teenage pregnancy) exist in other places as well. You'll be surprised to know that not all British people swan around in their own little rose-tinted happy-bubbles, thinking that everything about Britain is good, and everything about the rest of the world is bad... In fact, I don't know anybody at all who behaves like that (though I'm not saying they don't exist).

Anyway... LH, or any other driver, shouldn't have to put up with the sort of abuse he's getting, racist or not. Someone apparently threw a black cat at him in a press conference to try and give him bad luck. That's not racist, but it's immature and it just shouldn't happen to anyone. It's just disgusting.

Disgraceful. Spain, perhaps more than most European countries, is home to a large proportion of people with racist views.

Give me a break.

Last time I was in England, not so long ago (early 90s) people would call me "f***ing paky" on the streets because my skin was dark. Other than being violently racist towards pakistanis, they also did not have a f***ing clue of what a pakistani looks like (I am dark skinned but certainly do not look like a pakistani).

Not to mention Jean Charles de Menezes.

You see yourselves as such a civilized society and yet the Heissel stadium massacre did not happen so long ago.

You do not not have a clue of what Spain is like. Most of you just go to Spain to puke every night over cheap beer.

And do not get me started on slave trading.

We arent all like that funny enough

1) The Heysel Stadium disaster was not simply down to Liverpool fans. Firstly Juve fans were throwing things over the fence, secondly Liverpool fans had been attacked the previous year by Roma fans, and thirdly the stadium was totally inadequate. I don't condone what went on but there are two sides to every story.

2) Hillsborough was even more recent (1989) and had an even bigger death toll (96 Liverpool fans). Do not try to lecture Liverpool fans on stadium disasters - we know. How many times do I have to tell people that football in England has changed since the 80s? Have you ever been to Anfield? If you had you would have found some of the friendliest fans in the world (and certainly the best singers). I have NEVER seen ANY trouble at a Liverpool match. I have a fancard, same as every Premier League fan in Britain. If I was found to be causing trouble or shouting racist abuse my fancard would be taken away and I would be banned from every major football ground in England for life.

3) Most of Britain was horrified to find that the man shot on the Underground was not a terrorist, as we had been led to believe, but an innocent man. The head of the Metropolitan Police force was sacked recently, partly as a result. Do not pretend this is some sort of act of British public opinion. All policemen all over the world make mistakes from time to time, but at least most British policemen don't carry guns.

4) As for slave trading, yes, Britain engaged in and profited from the slave trade. But not only were we one of the first countries to ban slave trading, we also actively pursued a policy of using our then powerful navy to prevent Spanish, French and American ships carrying slaves.

Now enough of this stupid tit-for-tat :banghead:

What the hell are you talking about? When their IRA started their terrorist campaign, the police and army had to be mobilised to protect people and their property. There were some innocent casualties of the troubles, yes, but the police and army were fighting a war in Northern Ireland, and nor were there as many as you suggest. Many of these people killed were out rioting and shooting against the police and army etc. and were killed accidentally with plastic bullets. To be honest, I've not got too much sympathy for them. If they weren't out causing disorder, destruction and death, they would never have been hurt.

Ok sorry. I guess your views are a lot different to mine. It was not my intention to anger you at all. We think different. I don't like for example Serbs to this day because of what was caused to a small part of where my family is from. I should think like you and see this from both sides but I cant. So I guess that is why I am narrow viewed on the Irish situation. Anyway sorry as I was not intending to stir any pots. And also I think we all end this thread. It has gone far out of hand. Completely irrelevant to F1 and the very thing that stated it, that Spanish website has now been shutdown.
