you think mclaren afraid they might get a drivethrough if they say something ???

If McLaren spoke out they'd have no chance of winning the championship. Brazil would be a waste of time. Way to save money though, just cancel Brazil and give Massa the title that he's fought so hard :rofl::rofl: to be handed on a plate.

Of course Ferrari don't want a common engine it will mean that the advantage they have enjoyed for years where they have the fastest car will be pretty much erased.

So you're saying that Ferrari's engine has been the primary reason for their recent success? Madness... :nono:

Ferrari leaving F1 would probably be the end of F1. And Ferrari publicly coming out and saying this is a huge slap in the face to Mosley. Great job Ferrari

Yes, we'd end up with a new "Formula One" of sorts, bypassing MM and BE - not what either of those old farts really want to happen - so I'm sure the two of them are running around like headless chicken to put out all the fires they started :hehe::twisted:

I know some of you hate Ferrari but you have to give them thier due on this one. They are the only team that has the power to spit in mosley's face and get away with it. If they stay the course on this, it might just work and in the best case senario oust Mosley and Ecklestone.

Thank God for Ferrari. this time.

I'd rather McLaren said nothing about the matter for a while, to be honest. It's precisely because the team has been opinionated that has resulted in Ecclestone and the FIA giving us a hard time!

Indeed, credit where it's due to Ferrari, but this is just about the first time ever they've spoken out about the governing body. Their help would have been much obliged at various times in the past.

im surprised Mercedes have not been more outspoken about events. if there was standardised engines then it will just be McLaren & not McLaren Mercedes. where will they be able to push there brand?

For two reasons i expect.

1. Mclaren have to be careful the FIA do not like them and they need Lewis to have a trouble free Brazil
2. The Mercedes Engine is properly the best all round power unit in F1 and if it did go out to tender they would win it so i believe it was a case of not burning their bridges just in case.

Point one is a definite but I'm just speculating about point two

Ah yes I mentioned this in another post. I expect McLaren-Mercedes to protest as the idea of a single engine leaves Mercedes knowhere plus they own a big chunk of McLaren. Maybe they'll wait until after Brazil which is smart given their relationship with the FIA is not all that good. However having said that, I don't believe a conspiracy actually exists thus even if McLaren speaks up now about this, it will not effect Lewis Hamilton's title hopes next Sunday.

Isnt the tender going out to a third party? so that wouldnt be any of the current F1 manufacturers. More like Ford or Cosworth or something. I dont think Ferrari, BMW, Renault, Honda or Toyota will like having a Mercedes in there car, That would just be humiliating

If that is the case why don't we just rename F1 to Formula Ford. Hang on that already exists and if I am not mistaken it is mainily for junior drivers and amateurs. Max Mosley it is F***ing time you go. Even Ferrari now thinks you are a twat and so do I.......

It won't happen now they might of been able to live with Toyota leaving since they have only been in F1 since 2002 but Ferrari is too big a part of F1.

Other team like Mclaren, BMW will come out after brazil and reiterate whats been said by Toyota and Ferrari and that will be that

Well I think now that Toyota and Ferrari have come out, it will be enough that McLaren alone comes out. Simply having no Ferrari nor McLaren means I would estimate, 90 percent of all F1 fans saying, "Bye, bye F1".
