Now you would be forgiven for thinking this was some small eco-city-car. However its an electric coupe the equivalent of 700hp. Its also a handsome beast!

It does seem too good to be true. However nanotechnolgy is very very clever stuff . . . so finger crossed that the claims are true!

Anything that looks half-Aston half-TVR is definitely good.

Is there a spec on what you charge it from, exactly? Sounds too good to be true from a 10 amp socket, for sure...

And if Top Gear's outcomes are anything to go by, some of these distance ratings need to be taken with a pinch of salt too. In one of the more recent episodes the Tesla, while rated for 200 or so miles off a charge, was out after 50 or 60 miles when driven to its full potential, if I remember correctly...

same can be said for petrol cars, if you have a lead foot then ofcourse that will affect your mileage.

I am not sure how much energy you would need to do 200 miles. However I would imagine that you could charge it in 10 minutes if you had a 1000 amp mains supply to your house. As they said on the topgear Tesla episode the car would be charged in 16 hours (I think) from a normal 13 Amp plug. So in theory you could fully charge that with 1248 Amp supply in 10minutes

I say in theory as I think the batterys might not like it that much due to internal resistance etc

Exactly, nobody should take any grand economy claims too seriously, be they electricity or petrol-based...
