Well, on another thread a McLaren fan was accusing me of being paranoid for noting that there were no conspiracy theories that Massa would get taken out ... go figure!

This is particularly interesting if you look at the history of the "bump to win" strategy, of punting out your opponent to win a championship at a critical last race. Many people point to Schumacher for '97, but MS himself said that he'd arrived in F1 just after the "events" between Senna and Prost. Where Prost won in '89 by (as Senna believed) manipulating an accident with Senna, and Senna returned the "favour" the next year. In both of these years, the punting and winning driver was driving a McLaren. So historically, this could be said to be a McLaren strategy. And if there's any concern that it might happen again, then an aggressive McLaren driver should be considered a potential perpetrator.

Oh lighten up would ya dude :gay:
Lewis has a big enough gap where he can let Massa win and finish behind him, he doesnt need to bump him out

im irritated too by all the 'take him out' 'everyone hates lewis' and whatever

i suppose its inevitable, press always stir, its thier job, no one would really do it, surely...

As a Schumi supporter you don't need to talk to me about the press stirring things up.

I'd imagine this is a lot of hype, a couple of drivers have come out and said Hamilton has been a bit dubious under braking, that's about it really.

Can you imagine how many penalties would have come Schumi's way in today's era of "no passing allowed"?

Schumi must be watching in discust.

Like I said elsewhere I doubt it would happen.

The days of drivers doing this are over I think.

With the way punishments have been handed out this season I doubt any driver would even risk it anyway.

I started it when I said Massa needs Kimi to take out Hammy in Japan, then I said it again for China. People(I mean over sensitive Hammy fans) took it to mean I WANT this to happen.

Hammy does have the option of crashing into Massa. It is not without precedent. He would probably hava all his points stripped though, as happened that last time.

Lewis wants to win on the track, he wants to be the best more than he wants to be the chanpion...and therin lies some of the problems he is encountering.

Hi everybody ....if my memory serves me correctly we practically had the same situation last year - well close enough anyway. someone said the exact same thing last year.... hamilton only have to finish behind who eva needs to be in front of him. I really dont like to elaborate on much of it at the moment for this is F1 - absolutely anything can happen..... and believe me it will.......and the FIA is gonna be in the mix as well whether we like it or not. and i know somebody is going to add the comment that they will be in the mix to help ferrari or to make sure hamilton dont win. lets hope on fair play and while i do hold thumbs that Massa wins this one I think the issue about who will take out who sortof sucks after all ... these are supposed to be professional drivers that try to stick to the rules - or am i delusional in my weird way of thinking

He won't be considered the best until he becomes champion. Taking Massa out should not even be in his mind as he should win the title, all he needs to do is keep cool and play it conservative.

I don't think Lewis would want to take Massa out because he wants to win properly. Last year after the final round Hamilton said he dosen't want to win the title in the courts when BMW and Williams weren't disqualified for fuel irregularities

Former team boss Eddie Jordan says Lewis Hamilton must be prepared to ruthlessly retaliate in the event of a repeat of his Fuji collision with Felipe Massa.

Hamilton only needs a top five finish in Brazil to clinch the championship, so must not take unnecessary risks.

But Jordan says he must be ready to fight dirty if necessary.

"People may not like me for saying this, but if Massa tries to take him out as he did in Japan in order to steal the title then Lewis has to be ready for it," Jordan told the Daily Express newspaper.

"If he tries that on then Lewis has to turn his wheel into Massa to ensure he does not finish the race either - he has to take his wheel off."

Jordan believes that Hamilton will have no trouble clinching the title if he can maintain the serene form he showed when dominating Shanghai last week, but warned that he can't afford another erratic performance like the one he delivered in Japan.

"What happens next in the championship depends on whether Lewis has learnt from his last two races," he said.

"He was brilliant in China when he drove flawlessly to victory but awful, just awful in Japan. If the Hamilton of China turns up in Brazil, he will be world champion.

"I don't think he needs to go for broke but that is what he is inclined to do.

"He needs to be careful. He knows that right now the world is against him – the other drivers are against him and the stewards are against him. Yet I think what happened to him after his win at Spa was ghastly and his penalty in the Japanese Grand Prix was harsh too. That's what he has to contend with."

Hamilton also needs better support from his McLaren teammate Heikki Kovalainen, according to Jordan.

"I do believe Ron Dennis and his McLaren team need to get more out of Heikki Kovalainen because his input to the cause has been minimal," Jordan said.

"They have to aim to get Kovalainen on the first two rows of the grid in Brazil. That would dramatically improve McLaren's chances.

"Kovalainen always seems fuelled-up with a very heavy car and that makes him slow at the start, makes the car more difficult to control and is harder on the tyres. They should look to have him qualify fast and lighter from the start of the race. If he could get into the Ferraris it would really help Lewis."

I hope its Mclaren 1 + 2 on the front grid and HK acts as tail gunner, I really hope there are no shenanigans next week just exciting clean and aggressive driving
