So what do you think of McLaren's new fishmouth wing?
http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=39098

At least it's not AS ugly as Wiliams' walrus :)

It seems like a logical extension of a trend started by Renault with those wing flaps extending more and more inwards. 'bout time that those millions and millions invested in wind tunnels pay off...

Not nearly as weird as the horns

Or that weird wing on the front of the Arrows a few years ago.

i liked the walrus

The original Williams FW26 - worst Williams EVER, even the original FW12 wasn't that bad when it's Judd engine didn't go up in smoke.

It's strangely elegant. I've said it before... Ferarri's F 310 Beluga is the worst.

Oh, those were hideous! But those weren't frontwings, so they are in a league of their own :D

You say that Bud, but those were a blatant homage to the "Viking horns" on the McLaren lol

Those are no worse than the Flying Nun McLaren habits, or the sidepod mounted winglets of yore.

yeah the Mclarten and BMW did indeed have that wind keel thingy up there, Very unattractive. I remember the Schumacher Benetton had an airbox with a high rear like that, and the Ligier had exactly the same profile. I think it included but was not limited to the period of giant airbox holes.

Something very fishy about this picture. It almost appears De La Rosa is turning right when his tyres are straight.

Seems moot (for now):
Alonso did not offer promising feedback after using the wing - now painted red after originally appearing in carbon-fibre black - on the Barcelona layout.

"The extravagant and revolutionary front innovation did not work as the team had expected," the report added.

Alonso was fifth quickest in the MP4-22 on Wednesday; a full second off the pace of the dominant Ferrari steered by Felipe Massa.
