And bear in mind that even 6th would do if Kovalainen's ahead of him.

A very big if there. :hehe:

Yeh but i think were on track for a WDC this year and hey prehaps we'll get lucky for a WCC if it rains or somthing.

7 points is a lot, compared to 3 if Massa had won this weekend. But all hope is not lost, but it's certainly going to take a mistake from Lewis for Massa to win now.

Or, someone else's mistake. Including mechanical DNFs etc.

Lewis did finish outside the points last race. Could happen again.

...it's certainly going to take a mistake from Lewis for Massa to win now.

If that does happen, Massa will be a false champion.

I disagree. Mistakes are a part of racing, and Lewis' mistakes do not belittle Massa's solid driving. And by the way, before the flame starts, I'm pro McLaren...

Well considering Massa spun in Malaysia losing 8 points, wouldn't that make Lewis a false champion. I wouldn't say so.

I think it's safe to say that he's not implying that Massa would be a false champion because a Hamilton mistake allowed him to win, but because of certain Stewards' decisions that have been made in previous races.

Sorry man, Dooo ya not see the diffrence between Lewis loosing win because of a stupid stewards decision and someone spinning off the track.

Jeez!

If Lewis had that win the championship would be over for the drivers and we'd be disusing the constructors championship

Exactly. For those who don't share Denthúl's intelligence, I shall repeat: mistakes, reliability issues and that sort of thing are part of motorsport. Political interference from the governing body is not.

Intelligence?

I was under the impression I had just made a lucky guess... :hehe:

But yes. Definitely so, although I would think that, to some extent, Massa would still deserve a reward for the sheer amount of hard work he's put in. I can't remember who's report I read (either James Allen, Dereck Warwick or, erm...there was another that I read this week) but they counted up races where drivers had made mistakes, and somehow came out with Hamilton having made more than Massa, though that did depend on whether you counted his spins at Silverstone as one mistake or five :hehe:

Renault sealed 4th place in the constructors championship today (didn't think it was worth making a new thread about it, so...) - i expect they'll now be at least the 3rd fastest team next season if Alonso stays at the helm.

I expect Renault to be very good all year next year, but I think BMW will be no lower than 3rd next year.
