Another race like that for Lewis and he's champion. Good effort from Ferrari though. Kimi back on form, no more pit-stop troubles and a brilliant and totally unexpected pass by Massa. That should scare McLaren a bit.

Personally, I don't think anything will change in the current standings in both championships, excluding any unexpected results. Still hoping Kubica will retain his 3rd place.

Hamilton goes into Brazil with a 7 point lead over Massa. What happens if Massa hypothetically wins in Brazil (+10 pts) and Hamilton scores 6th (+3 pts)? This would put both drivers on equal standings on points. Bear in mind that both drivers have won an equal amount of races (5 each).

Anyone?

whats going on with Lewis's engine did he use his joker?

missed it if he did.

Thats what I cant understand, pretty certain he hadnt but why save this one then?

Go to who has the most second places-thats what happened last year with Lewis and Alonso for 2nd place

I can understand him saving it why risk damaging it after hekki's failure.

just done a search cant see him

No I meant why save it for next race as Haug seemed to be suggesting

Yeh i know but he might of just been saving it to avoid the chance of it failing during the race today.

even though its remote.

Perhaps not the most interesting race we're ever likely to see, even from a point of view of analysing lap times and stuff. Hamilton put in a great drive. He was so much faster than anybody else all weekend, didn't get carried away in the opening laps and was able to cruise round all afternoon. Ferrari had no answer to Hamilton's pace. Indeed, that Hamilton came in for his first pit-stop at the same time as Ferrari, it shows how great his qualifying lap was. Raikkonen looked reasonably fast when the tyres had gone through their graining stage, but that of course left him with no time to do anything. Massa was pretty average all weekend. On top of being slow, he's also completely delusional. Does he think Formula One fans are mugs? At least Raikkonen told us straight: he let Massa by.

You have to say that the battle for the official constructors' title is all but over. Ferrari are too far ahead, so, borrowing two major disasters for Ferrari, it's another year without the title for McLaren. I feel sorry for all the team's staff: they are suffering because of a political s*** storm and deserve the constructors' title for their efforts.

Alonso had a decent race, but what was telling was how he was faster than Kovalainen down the back straight. I think it's pretty clear that Renault have been tweaking their engine in the last month or so. :hehe: Piquet was doing alright, nothing special, but made another gaffe, although I'm not sure it would have affected his finishing position.

Both BMWs had reasonable races. Without his penalty, Heidfeld could have been on for a podium, and certainly forth place. Kubica did fairly well to move up the field slightly.

Barrichello had another great race as well. Button was simply outclassed. What are Honda waiting for? Re-sign the guy. He's showing fantastic speed and commitment and is basically willing to drive for free! If Barrichello is without a race seat next season it will be a travesty.

Hamilton was saving his engine because he has to use it in Brazil. Personally, I think it's a joke that you can't use your free engine change in the final race of the season. Where's the reward for having looked after you engines throughout the season?

What if he has trouble in a practice session.

ie pr3 surely he'll be able to change it there without a penalty

Massa would win, cause if Massa wins in Brazil, that makes 6 wins over Lewis's 5. They both have 2 2nd places so far, and Massa has 2 3rds and Lewis has 3 3rds.

It everything goes status quo, then Lewis will be crowned champion on front of a disappointed crowd
7 points is a lot, compared to 3 if Massa had won this weekend. But all hope is not lost, but it's certainly going to take a mistake from Lewis for Massa to win now.

I wish I had stayed in bed, what a boring race that was. Once again shows what a rubbish circuit Shanghai is. Not as bad as Valenci-yawn and Catalunya-wn but it was just as I dreaded and once again ITV get it totally wrong on their "Oh it really IS going to rain" predictions, I knew it wasn't going to come. That's 2 hours I'll never be able to get back now.

not a good race, it's difficult to pick out any sterling drives apart from obviously Hamilton. Kubica did quite well to make his way up the field, and Kovalainen had yet more problems...but the whole weekend belongs to Lewis; his dominance shows itself in only the second hatrick of his career. Fantastic job, and now that his closest rival is 7 points behind as opposed to 4 going into the final race, everything becomes a lot simpler. He can just forget about the Ferraris and drive for 3rd, although I'm sure he'll go for the win if possible. But he is a lot more comfortable than last year, as it's very clear exactly what he has to do. And bear in mind that even 6th would do if Kovalainen's ahead of him. Bar a cruel mechanical failure, Lewis is in a fantastic position.
