Hanwombat wrote:So do I. Heidfeld has always impressed me in rainy conditions which is where I think his driving style gives him and advantage over most of the field, though he still has to contend with guys like Hamilton, Vettel and Barrichello. Nick perhaps isn't the best at driving in the wet, but he's good enough to get big resultsDenthúl wrote:Heidfeld FTWHanwombat wrote:Yep. The fact that there are no longer any British companies building Formula 1 engines makes conforming to this idea that you have even more difficult, and the costs that would be required to set one up are simply too high in the current financial climate.EwmanM wrote:We are talking Formula 1 here, the cars were designed and built in Britain - great teams such as Lotus, Tyrrell - chassists like March etc, it was nothing to do with the Ford Gt or the Ford Focus or the shitty Ford Kas!You Brits always defending everything. Tell me, when are the Brits ever going to make an F1 team that can be considered an ALL BRITISH car. This means no associations with American Ford. No engine suppliers that come from countries like Germany, Japan and France. When are they going to do this? Ferrari in all its entirety is Italian. Your just biased. Because you are from Britain you'll say they are the best. But the reality is they are not the best in F1. My views are not biased because as far as Ferrari and its nationality are concerned, I am a neutral party.
It was a time which still has relevance today - where British teams and drivers absolutely wooped Ferrari.
In all honesty if Hamilton wasn't such a w***er id want him to be Champion - because I wanted Hill and Coulthard when they had their chances.
What he's saying or what i think he's saying is...
That britan has been more sucsefull than other contries as a constructor combined.
Lotus, Willaims & Mclaren, Vanwall, Cooper & Brambham & BRM etc have won more titles for Britain than another nation

(to be fair there's only France and Italy in it)
On top of that more teams are based in Britain because the UK has a MASSIVE motor sport industry

Anyways, about the race. I really hope that Heikki can jump Alonso and Massa at the first turn and then challenge Raikkonen, because I really want to see him on the podium again. I think that maybe he and the team should've decided to fuel him a little lighter than usual to ensure a front-row start, to be honest.
Longbow wrote:I think Honda and Williams will have better KERS systems than McLaren, in all honesty. I don't really know where Renault are at, but they may be able to build a quick car without a good KERS system. It'd be like getting a non-turbo car to compete with a turbo car, and I'd love that!Denthúl wrote:Mclaren are big on the technical side i expect they'll get the best KERS, BMW should do well also not sure about renault.Longbow wrote:This year will be their last success, if they manage to win it.
