I rarely post to forums, but I thought I would correct the statement made above about the US SpeedTV coverage of F1. I am an Englishman living in USA and watch every F1 race, practice, quali on SpeedTV and I have NEVER heard any of the commentators say that Hamilton's driving is dangerous. By the way, I'm on the east coast and I pick Massa for the betting game. You'd better bring a BIG stack of bills!

Thanks for that clarification.
Go bet for me!!! :hehe::hehe::hehe:

Oh, lastly, we don't have hundred pound bills, so this game would probably be a non-starter...

Completely o/t, but you can get Scottish 100 pound notes that are legal tender down here... but yeah, there isn't a british 'standard' £100 note. :P

Each season people increasingly moan about the lack of overtaking and how boring it's all getting, then as soon as someone steps up and starts racing again everyone starts moaning again. Regardless of what his attitude is like out of the car, you have to admit that Hamilton has provided some of the most exciting racing in the last two years.

No, but he's supposed to defend his position fairly, not just shove the guy off the track and on to the grass, in the wet. And, having gone back to watch the footage, Webber actually gets himself ahead of Hamilton going in to the corner, not just alongside as I previously mentioned. I still thought it was way over the top. The contact especially.

Hamilton had the inside line, which he was entitled to defend, and Webber was not ahead of Hamilton as you suggest. I don't see anything that Hamilton did wrong.

You can see the front wheels touch in that video (0:05), and Webber had run out of track to his left. Pretty unnecessary contact really.

What I also see is Webber's steering wheel turned a fair distance to the right, despite there being plenty of room to his left.

The video I watched showed it solely from the onboard camera and did not illustrate the point at which the contact was made as clearly as that. Thank you for clarifying. However, the contact was still quite unnecessary. By that I mean, he did continue to squeeze a little much, though from this angle it doesn't look as bad as what I initially saw.

That 'plenty of room' looks like kerbing, to me. You know how those get treated in the wet.

I like how in this thread we're talking about how the drivers shouldn't be making judgments - leave it to the stewards. But in other threads, the same people are accusing the stewards of being paid off and corrupt...

Drivers stop being girlies. Stewards stop being corrupt. Easy :thumbup:

Amen.

Driver's can't change lines, can't try relatively risky maneuvres, can't pass close to other car, can't, can't, can't...What the :censored: is up with that?

Yeh it should be left to the stewards but i don't think anyone's suggesting there being paid off or corrupt they are just bias towards Ferrari.

It does seem that way at times.

Last year's stewards were by far a better bunch.

I'd like to see exciting racing too, like in Japan there was a 4 way Mclaren Vs Ferrari battle in the making but then Hamilton ruined it in the first corner.
