After Spa, Alonso made a comment about the stewards decision is always right whether you agree with it or not but appears to have changed his views:

"We probably believe that there are too many penalties because sometimes the races are decided by the stewards," he said.

"Sometimes they are wrong, sometimes they are fair.

"For the drivers, what will help is to have consistency in the penalties.

"If one time you do something and you get penalised, it’s not possible that the next time you do the same thing and you don’t get penalised.

"I think we ask for a little bit more consistency, even if they are very harsh."

Are the drivers starting to get as confused as the fans over recent events?

I would imagine so. Now they're going to come out of the pits and fear any car coming down the pit straight that they might be fighting for position with. They'll be afraid even of things that should be considered racing incidents.

This could be another episode reflecting Alonso's bitterness. The only reason he agreed with Hamilton's penalty at Spa and last weekend was because of who was penalised rather than the incident himself. Generally, however, I take your point. The drivers are now beginning to fed up with what has been happening this season, as Webber and Heidfeld said today.

Yeh hopfully it will stop the stewards going too far, bit sick of races being decided by them, don't get me wrong rules are needed but its racing.

i don't want to watch a f1 train i want to see over taking and some battles.

All I can say is god help the next driver who causes a crash with another driver, they ll end up gettin a life time ban from the sport! and the person crashed into will get a 3 race ban for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Alan Donnelly must be given the boot. He is Max Mosley's agent at Grand Prix, his company has Ferrari and the FIA as clients, and he can override Charlie Whiting and the stewards' views.
