This sucks big time.

Traditional countries are losing GPs, that's sad.

It shouldn't really be about traditional countries. As much as I might get abused for this, I couldn't care which countries Formula 1 had races in as long as the following criteria were met:

A) It was a good selection of countries from each continent
B) The circuits were all built to a high standard and presented good opportunities for racing, overtaking and general displays of great driving

Although I do agree with the two points, I do think F1 needs to be where it built a history and tradition.

I don't mind having no French GP (and that has nothing to do with me being American :P ) - Monaco could be considered French.
I think Germany needs to keep a GP as much as Britain and Italy for historical and team reasons (that's at MF).
Canada should get a chance to be placed back on the calendar now that there's an empty spot

From F1 Live:

Disneyland Resort Paris is the frontrunner to bring France back to the Formula One calendar in 2010, French racing federation Chief Executive Nicolas Deschaux has admitted.

As the Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) announced that next year's Magny Cours race has been cancelled for economic reasons, Deschaux said he met this week with organisers of six alternate venues.

Disneyland Paris is located about a half hour drive from the French capital, and we reported recently that plans have been devised for a temporary track on the Euro Disney-owned grounds.

Moreover, the national sports newspaper L'Equipe reports that quadruple world champion and former F1 team owner Alain Prost is firmly backing the project, having declared the future of the French Grand Prix 'an issue of national importance.'

Deschaux said: "The only plan that can be put in place in 2010 is the Paris Val d'Europe (Disneyland) project."

He also said the other five hopeful venues have thought up 'serious' propositions for the French Grand Prix.

I'm with you on that, was one of the worst races this season before Valenci-yawn came along and Magny-Bores lives up to its nickname that I gave it. But we really need a proper French grand prix. I would like to see it back at Paul Ricard, but some idiot took down all the stands that were there when F1 last raced there in 1990.
