Next year's season finale could be staged under floodlights, F1 Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone has admitted.

It was rumoured recently that, following the success of the inaugural night grand prix in Singapore, Ecclestone's next target for the spectacle is Abu Dhabi, a new event to be staged in the Arab emirate late next year.

Race organisers Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management would not comment on the speculation.

But Ecclestone told the local newspaper Khaleej Times: "At the moment, we do not have an agreement to run Formula one at night in Abu Dhabi but we are discussing the possibility."

I'm really not sure I like this at all. Having more night races is just going to devalue their significance.

Indeed. Aside from that, what I've seen of Yas Island during the day is far more impressive than the dark. It's the kind of scenery that looks right in the day (palm trees, desert sands etc.). Plus, it's not as far out of our time zone as Singapore was.

Night races are nothing exciting, Id rather they were day races and I watched them at night

If it would be on during the night here then that would be fine for me because I prefer watching grand prix's at night.

Singapore should remain as the only night race, if they start cropping up all over the calendar the novelty will wear off so quick Bernie will probably force the drivers into fiddling with Rubix cubes whilst driving next.
