The article is poor written, granted, but it's not meant to be the Aeneid. It shows how sad, petty, hateful and two-faced Alonso is. He's the best all-round driver in Formula One and a worthy champion, but his personality sadly doesn't mirror his driving.

Well your wrong on the two faced part. He's never said he liked Hamilton or wanted to help him :D
Seems alot of people turning on Hamilton - Kubica Raikkonen, Alonso, Heidfeld,

No. He said he had nothing against Hamilton personally, it was more with the team's management. Now he has come out and said he wants to help Massa win the title. He's a w***er.

The article doesn't say that he wants to do it so that Hamilton doesn't win. If anything, it's more to get at McLaren, given the words presented. Maybe that's the case, maybe it isn't, but it's certainly the most logical assumption to make from reading it.

Well, I read this on a Formula One site and those were pretty much Alonso's words. The two interviews suggest more or less the thing, but if you take the Spanish interview to be his "definitive" view, you can see he's lying, for if he felt nothing towards Hamilton he would not give a toss about whether or not he wins the title.

But I think it is more against Mclaren than Hamilton himself and Im sure he'd prefer them not to win.

Hamilton is getting quite unpopular and drivers are starting to speak out against him mainly because they think he's being too aggressive. If Alonso was in a position for the title I would prefer Hamilton to win it than Alonso.
#71866
I don't know what else people were expecting him to say given his history with that team  at least he had the balls to come out and actually say something relatively controversial, unlike most other drivers on the grid.

Alonso's a man with a one track mind
So much to do in one life time
He's Not a man for compromise and wheres and whys and living
Lies
So he's living it all
And he's giving it all

Also unimpressed is the winner of multiple Champ Car titles Sebastien Bourdais, who lost his championship points at Fuji after stewards investigated his collision with Massa.

"He's fighting for the title and taking unnecessary risks like that, as he did with (overtaking) Webber as well.

"You've got everything to lose and nothing to gain. It is a sign of arrogance," the Frenchman charged.

:beans:

Well put by Bourdais there, and is it me or does Massa seem to have it in for Sutil and Red Bull drivers? Remember when his crash with Coulthard at Melbourne? Now he's had incidents with Bourdais and Webber.

What, is he going to deliberately crash into Hamilton? I hope not. Maybe he'll just let Massa pass him or something. IMO Alonso should focus on winning the two remaining races though :D

What a farce, I'm starting to dislike all of wc-contenders.

Hamilton: Young nasty upstart, quick but overly aggressive and starting to get dangerous when things don't go his way. Excellent racer though, but when the pressure is really on, he becomes hot headded. Ability wise a champion, but he should have started in a williams or so.

Massa: Nicer person, fast if not the fastest over 1 lap, but only consistent when unchallenged. Not a racer at all, loses his cool and f*cks up badly. Clearly this man needs a boss/mentor, like schumacher used to, Raikonnen can't be bothered, so sack one of the two.

Raikonnen: Most likely the most gifted driver out there, but for the last 2~3 years he hardly ever can be bothered. 90% is good enough for mister Raikonnen, which puts him just under Massa and in trouble ever time round. I really dislike him for that, I used to be a big fan at Sauber and McLaren, but it seams the string of bad luck in the last 2 years at McLaren broke him. I think he should retire.

Kovalainen: Very reasonable driver, I think he needs more time, he should improve.

Kubica: Best overal driver this season, no incredibal qualities, but no nasty dumbass mistakes either. I hope he wins the WC.

Heidfelt: Could do better, but I think BMW gains from him as much as from Kubica at the moment. Kubica is faster, but heidfelt yields more usable data. I'm glad there are plenty of brains at BWM, because they are keeping both of them.

Vettel: Very much like hamilton, but he did start at a much smaller team(torro rosso, and test-driver for BMW). This man is clearly a Champion, but not a clue how he will cope with pressure though.

Webber: Love to see him as a WC, but he isn't really. Needs to land a second seat in a superb car, and that's not going to happen. Won't let you down though.

Button: maybe a bit faster then webber, but more unreliable too.

Fisichella: Even faster then Button, but MUCH more unreliable. Can waste months sulking and crashing.

We need proper Champions, professionals like gentlemen Hakkinen, and D ick Dastardly Schumacher(I loved to hate him, fast, intelligent, controlled yet mean/nasty, a deadly combination)

Aside from his spectacular talent that rivals that of guys like Alonso, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg etc.?

And too big buddies with Nick Fry and will stick with Honda even if they are the slowest team for the rest of his career which would be sad.

Fisichella needs a cattle prod to work properly when he's in a top car.

If everyone has this talent (Raikkonen, Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg etc.) then is't not an incredibal talent now is it!
Like I said overall he is the best this season, but I don't think he is the absolute best in any single aspect of being a driver.

Id agree with some of that...but not most :)

He has the aggression of Hamilton, but also a much better mentality at the moment. His racecraft is very good for a guy who's only competed in the sport for two and a half seasons. He's naturally fast, which is always a bonus. Not everybody in this sport has that talent. Face it, guys like Massa, Coulthard, Button, Fisichella, Trulli etc. are a peg lower than those top drivers. I don't see how you can watch any of the six guys I mentioned in my initial post and say that there is nothing spectacular about their driving, because there certainly is.
