You know when all the drivers come round to line up for the start of the race, what happens if a driver overshoots his starting line so he's not "on his line" and has it ever happened?

last I remember, if you overstep the lines, or start before the lights are out, the driver in question is given a drive through.
I think Rubens did that sometime this year actually. I can't remember.

Its a drive through. It did happen where a driver was lined up at an angle towards the center too in the first couple of races.

I think it was last year's Brazilian grand prix. He jumped the start.
