What do you think of him? I don't think he'll ever fight for the title. His days of glorie have passed. Because why isn't he at a top team? Honda isn't doing that well so far. In that way that they haven't even been close to the podium and I don't think Button will be this season.

Time's running out for Jenson, he should have gone back to Williams in 2005, they could have still had BMW power right now. Honda are only holding him back so I can see him leaving at the end of the year. He's still good, but now Hamilton appears to have established himself as the top Brit.

Personally I think Button is a brilliant driver. I think his decision to stay at Honda was a good-one . . . at the time, as they have a drive to win and a very large budget. But this season Button has been badly let down by the car he's been given, it's lack of pace seriously takes the piss!

Too much pressure from the media has made him bottle any chances of winning the title. That and the team is crap. :D

Button is a very good driver, who made the right choice staying at Honda in 2005 (7UPJordan, I believe BMW had already said they would be parting company with Williams which was one of the reasons why Button no longer wanted to go to Williams - I could be wrong though!), the main mistake he made with that contract was the length of it, if it wasn't for that, I doubt he'd be there next season.

I think Denilson has made a great point about media attention on him, he was 'Britain's best hope' from the moment he stepped into an F1 car, and I hope that Lewis Hamilton doesn't go the same way - although I doubt McLaren will allow it to happen in the way that Williams and especially Honda allowed to to happen to Button. Plus Hamilton is a better driver in a better car so should win sooner thereby avoiding much of the negative side of the press that Button got.

Williams are my favourite team, but they seem to have a habit of making mistakes with their British drivers, Williams failed to keep hold of Mansell in 1988 just as they signed their deal for Renault engines from 1989 onwards, Ferrari had jumped in and signed up Mansell.

Then Williams made the stupid mistake of signing Prost failing to realise that one of the reasons Mansell planned to retire in 1990 was because of Prost's politics he brought to Ferrari. Mansell duly retired (only to come back at the end of 1994 and then got ditched in favour of Coulthard).

Then when Damon Hill won the Championship in 1996, Frank made the most STUPID and IDIOTIC mistake of signing Frentzen for 1997 and getting rid of Hill!! And the time this was announced was around the same time Germany knocked England out of Euro '96!! Where's the patriotism Frank???

Anyway Frentzen was crap, Villeneuve was just egoistic and I was glad when they both left Williams at the end of 1998, I'd gone off my team for 2 years thanks to Frank's idea of hiring Frentzen.

And then to cap it all off they got rid of Button to make way for Montoya in 2001, but this time they LOANED Button to Benetton, then tried to put it into fruition by trying to sign him for 2005.

If Williams do sign another Brit, let's hope they don't chicken it up like they did with Hill and Mansell in particular. :)

This happens every time Honda or whatever team Jenson drives for are crap. His talent is drawn into question. People's memories are too short.

Any one of a number of things are going to happen: Jenson is going to Renault, Jenson is going to Williams, Jenson is going to ProDrive. NONE of those things are Jenson is staying at Honda - they can't be trusted any more.
