I don't see how it atones for Spa at all. Regardless of whether Hamilton was allowed to win the race or not in Belgium, today's race was a new race, so what happened would have happened anyway. It wasn't Massa's fault, for the light went green, but I would love to know what exactly went wrong. It seems to me - and we don't know for certain yet - that the guy with the fuel rig hit his button as he was about to pull off the rig, but it jammed, so it was too late; the light turned green. The machine cannot think. It couldn't recognise the problem with the rig, nor could it see that Sutil's car was nearing the Ferrari pit box. A lollipop man would have seen these dangers. The penalty Massa got today was deserved, for the pit lane is so narrow at the circuit compared to others.

I think this season is starting to resemble Ferrari from the early 1980s.
Capable enough to win both titles, strong enough drivers/car... but the management just doesn't click and they make numerous mistakes.

I'm not going to say the title is over, but I think Hamilton will be crowned soon.

As for constructors - sorry to piss the Mclaren followers off, but Ferrari will do you I think.
Heikki just seems to have issues...

Don't worry, that doesn't annoy me. It's the truth. If McLaren had two good drivers instead of just one, the constructors' championship would have been settled several Grands Prix ago.

Kovalainen out!

It was'nt Massa's fault at all, it was all Ferrari's fault with their stupid traffic light system that needs to be banned.

It sounds like a bit of straw-clutching from Domenicali. What happened today would have been much less likely to occur had a lollipop man been there. He would have seen the rig was jammed and not raised his lollipop. The main problem with the system is that it does not think like a human. It can't see that behind it another car is coming up the pitlane, so the light goes green nonetheless and causes a dangerous situation in the pits.

After Valencia Ferrari stated the system had someone in control to stop that happening, it failed there, it failed in Canada and in todays race there were multiple failures, Massa should be ripping that lightbox off and kicking it down the pitlane and if it doesn't get banned Ferrari should bin it anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for Ferrari to use this system. It does have some advantages, and it would be unfair not focus on them.

I guess along with Kimi's fuel hose incident at Valencia, no one in the Scuderia Ferrari pit team is going to want to be on fuel.

8-)
Didn't Rosburg get a stop & go penalty? and Massa get a drive through?
I'm not sure what is more dangerous!
Pitting for fuel with safety car out?
OR
Driving in pit road in the path of another car with your fuel hose still connected?

seems rules for one and rules for others again

I think I got mi facts straight as mi mom-in-law stood in front of mi telle at the crucial moment

but anyway, :coffee:
