Given the way that he was building up his lead in the first stint, I'd be tempted to say Massa, but of course there are so many variables that you could come up with a reasoning to back the statement that Sutil would have won.

Massa definitely. He would've come out ahead of Hamilton and ahead of Coulthard. Meaning, he'd be in clean air to chase both Alonso and Rosberg down. I'm gutted it never happened.

In terms of race speed alone, Massa. However, even if the safety car had not of come out, Massa's pitstop would still have gone wrong.

If there had been no SC and all fuel stops gone well then Massa would of won but even witout the SC the fuel stop would of gone wrong and LH or KR would of won.

Not necessarily. There wouldn't have been as much pressure to get Massa out so fast because Raikkonen wouldn't have been sat waiting for his stop.

Nobody knows. The mechanic could just have expected it to come away first time and hit the button before doing so. We've seen rigs a little tough to get released before, but not necessarily jammed.

Nobody knows. The mechanic could just have expected it to come away first time and hit the button before doing so. We've seen rigs a little tough to get released before, but not necessarily jammed.

That's what I mean. It seems to me that the Ferrari mechanics are hitting the button as they are about to pull off the fuel rig rather than when it is actually disconnected from the car. Usually, this is fine, but the odd time the rig gets stuck and disaster strikes.

I reckon Alonso would still have had it, he'd still have built up the lead when Massa would supposedly have been behind Trulli, Fisi and the Red Bulls, and would in theory have had Rosberg just behind him in 2nd all the time anyway.

Alonso's quirky strategy won him the race, he would probably have won whatever happened behind him.

well if the pit stop incident happened regardless of safty car then Hamilton would of proberly won.

On top of that we don't know the true fuel Hamilton might of been able to stay out a lap longer than massa so he may of been able to close up and hop him.

I would like to say Lewis but I think it would probably have still been Alonso. He'd been running fast all weekend, with the frontrunners. Massa though pulling out on Lewis was not very far ahead and Lewis may have had a couple more laps of fuel, so I think Massa would have been somewhere around where Lewis was, possibly slightly ahead. All would have depended on the fraffic and where Massa was in relation to Coulthard. Im presuming we still had the safety car for Piquet but no hosepipe in the pitlane.
