Im intrested to know how much fuel Hamilton put in for final qualifying considering he was running fumes to get by in quali 2

I imagine he wont be running any longer than anybody else

Hamilton is running light. Massa is running lighter still. That's my educated guess anyway.

That was all of our guesses after Massa passed both McLarens on the first corner of the Hungarian GP and we were all therefore wrong. So who knows what the situation is. I think it will be close regardless of the what the starting fuel loads are.

True. McLaren had better hope Hamilton is heavier than Massa, for if he is not, he won't be passing him on the track.

yeh just as Ferrari are hoping it will be dry no doubt i expect Hamilton is doing his rain dance right now

Ferrari claim to have got their wet weather difficulties sorted out, but they can never sort out Massa's deficiencies when it rains!

Well, I heard the commentators mentioning how little fuel they put in Lewis' car. They have probably about the same fuel loads.
So no complaints when Massa beats Lewis tomorrow, you can't blame this one on the FIA

Why do I see everyone talking about the "view>" Sure it's really pretty, but when did motor-racing become a circus? The entertainment should be coming from the on-track racing between cars and drivers, even if the view was terrible and the colors drab. This mockery of racing will drive away real racers who have racing in their blood.

On top of it all, it's a new track - they could have built it specifically to accomodate a few overtaking corners, but NO. Bring back the 70's.

I think it looks cool and I like it - goes well with the glamor of, e.g., Monaco or F1 in general. It reminds me a bit of cage fighting

Another crazy penalty. How the hell could Heidfeld do anything about it? He was coming into the pits and it just so happens that whoever designed the track put the pitlane entrance at the apex of the final corner. Blame the guy who designed the track, not Heidfeld!

I just checked, and yes, it was.

To be fair to Tilke it is a street circuit and he has to accommodate the layout of the city but that pit-lane entrance is inexcusable. The straight is long enough to have it pushed back

Heidfeld defends qualifying move

Nick Heidfeld claims there was nothing more he could have done to get out of Rubens Barrichello's way in qualifying, after being handed a three-place grid penalty for impeding the Honda driver.

Barrichello was on a flying lap when he closed in on Heidfeld, who was heading to the pits through the pitlane entry that has caused some controversy this weekend.

Heidfeld tried to get out of Barrichello's way but still forced his Brazilian rival to abandon his lap.

And after being handed his punishment, Heidfeld was clearly upset about getting caught out by the design of the pitlane entry - which still leaves cars heading for the pits on the racing line.

Speaking about the incident, Heidfeld told autosport.com: "The GPS system does not work here. Normally we are pretty good from the team side to inform me of cars arriving, but here it is not just working. It doesn't show you cars, it then shows the wrong cars or the wrong positions. So I was not informed because the GPS does not work.

"The last part of the circuit was so tight and I watched the mirrors but you don't see cars coming. When I saw him (Rubens) I tried to do the best I could to get out of the way. After the white line I tried to be as quick into the pitlane without moving completely right and going into his way. It was the best I could do. But apparently not enough."

Heidfeld has said his annoyance at the matter has been increased because it should have been noted before the Grand Prix event started that the design of the pitlane entry would cause trouble.

"Even before the race weekend started it was obvious that there would be issues with the pitlane entry and pitlane exit, so I don't know why it wasn't thought through properly," said the German.

Agreed. So hopefully it wont rain then or if it does, Lewis Hamilton is not already behind Massa's rear end. Umm that is why Kim needs to get inbetween then and ride shotgun for Massa. Now that would be good teamwork, especially if it were to rain.

Edit: It looks like a bunch of people think the same thing in another thread. I like Heidfeld, but honestly thats what you deserve
