Brilliant post, totally agree with you on that. F1 shouldnt become the anything but the pinnacle of motorsport and the centre for ingenious technology.
Why would you want to restrict the budget of an F1 team? This is so stupid. If you did then large investors (Vodafone, ING, Shell, RBS...) would just spend less money in Formula 1 and spend more in other forms of advertising instead. At least in F1 they are not only getting there monies worth of advertising but they are supporting automotive technology R&D. This technology (better aerodynamics, more efficient power packages) is directly linked to how efficient the personal car you drive everyday is. For God sakes, give them more money and lets see what amazing new technology these teams can create as a byproduct of racing.
