The reason you don't see many rookies losing the championship for their team probably has something to do with them not being in a dominant position in the WDC in the first place...I suppose 5 podiums in your first five races is pretty average. And then second season syndrome has truly taken hold of him. 4 more brilliant race wins and several more quality drives. Leading the Championship again. Lets move on then. Lewis Hamilton got penalised for gaining an advantage after cutting the Chicane. If he were innocent the penalty would of had been removed. It wasn't. Time to move on.

Would he of had the chance to do all of the above in a Force India in his rookie year ?
I can name a few other rookies who would have probably done the same if not better in the best car on the grid in there rookie year too.
So put it in prespective mate, he is good but we will see how good in the coming years.

No I think he sees this quite clearly. I remember when Heikki was hailed as the one who was gonna show lewis the way, he hasnt. There are always top cars, Lewis was a rookie in one of FOUR top cars and he was against more experienced competitors. So Mikey, remove head from bottom

In my eyes they have been more of a revalation than hammy because of what they have been driving.
And to top it off they are nice humble guy's

Oh I see. So if you're a "nice humble guy" then you are capable of winning a champioship in you're rookie year. Well yes I suppose thats the clincher.
RK yes, but humble??? He's as hard nosed as Lewis but plays situations better. SV, no, he's in a good car with a Ferrari engine and bar bad luck his team mate has been very close.

Vettel seems like a great guy, although if he had 8 race victories to his name he might have a bit more of an ego. I disagree about Kubica. He is just as self-centred as Hamilton, and just as ruthless in getting what he wants; but he's better at hiding it from the press, i.e. more crafty.

Also, I didn't say that Vettel or Kubica weren't class drivers. I said it was ridiculous to shrug off Hamilton's achievement of coming 2nd in his rookie year, regardless of what car he was driving. Not many rookies get to jump straight into a top team, but he's seized his opportunity with both hands. It's not something you can rationally hold against him.

Agree completely with this, particularly re Kubica. Some folk are easily taken in! Love his driving and rate him. You dont win if you dont believe you can.

Bravo Juggles!

I find it always kind of amazing when people give a race car driver, ... let me say again, A RACE CAR DRIVER!, flack for being cocky. Their, ... race car drivers people, not the Pope, a Priest, or a School Teacher. They put their lives on the line to a large degree, smoking down the road at amazing speeds, 2 inches away from the guy next to them. Personally, I just don't see why everyone has a problem with Hamilton's cockiness. Who cares! The man is an amazing driver, I just don't get it!

I could care less how the guy acts off the track. Is there some fascination with him in some way personally, that people find offensive? I'm sorry, I don't get it! Is he marrying your daughter? Is he going to be a part of your family? The man has no association to you what-so-ever, what do you care if he's arrogant? All-due-respect to everyone's comments, but come on!

And I must agree with Juggles with respect to his point about Hamilton's record. It's not a fluke the kid knows what he's doing. Just because people don't like him, doesn't take away from him being absolutely amazing! Deal with it people! Can't we just congratulate someone for their efforts and leave it at that? Do we have to debase the guy?

I say we just stick to racing. And if you want to compare racing, then you have to applaud the top two. Hamilton and Massa. Enough with Kimi and Alonzo. These guys are good drivers, but they're not the best by far. All Alonzo does now is give excuse after excuse about his car not working, his team, blah-blah-blah, enough already Alonzo. And Kimi had his day in the sun, but now that time is gone. I know it, he knows it, as do most of his fans. The difficulty with Ferrari, is them gulping down their saliva to force themselves to admit it. Does that take away from their past accomplishments? Of course not, their amazing drivers. But let's give credit where credit is due. To two of the top drivers currently on the circuit. Hamilton and Massa.

I agree about Kubica. He has shown his true colours this year. I feel sorry for the folk at BMW having to listen to his incessant whinging. On top of this, he's been sure to get himself signed up on as short a contract as possible, perhaps hoping to jump ship if things at BMW don't work out. He's no fool alright. At least this is offset by his brilliant driving.
