lol is it just me or do I get the feeling that this race weekend is gonna be really boring?

No it isn't just you. i have a feeling we will get another valencia but this time at night

it might be in the dark but i cant see it being much darker

Massa's looked at strong at the other street circuits, so I'm gonna go and hope for some warmth and a Massa Pole Position.
Of course, Singapore seems like a cross between Monaco and Valencia. So who knows really.

Still, the night race sounds great. A novelty, but a great one at that. Its something different. I remember watching LeMans at night, and thinking, theres just something great about this. It just gives a whole new feel to the racing honestly.

Anyways, as for Rosberg saying, we'll be fast here. Don't doubt him. The williams reacts badly with uneven surfaces. Thats why Rosberg was able to qualify 6th at Monaco. It was partly thanks to the smooth road surfaces. So I'll bet Williams will be at least a little bit better here.

The only saving grace for this track may be the wet weather. If it remains dry, we're in for a borefest.

I hope your 'pessimistic' outlook is proven wrong. How can you call a new track & race a 'borefest' without ever witnessing it?

I hope I'm wrong as well, but you have only got to look at the circuit map to see this is not going to be a legendary circuit. On top of that, everybody is hyping it up to levels the track is not going to meet.

Strictly just your personal opinion which does not make it true. Legendary, dont you think that is alittle premature to be expecting so much from a new circuit?

How do you or they know that? My frustration is that NOBODY know's anything about the track but they are acting like they have all the knowledge in the world about it and how the race will be. Does someone have a F1 crystal ball that know's all and see's all?

I hope you see that I am not trying to be a hardhead it's just that I have trouble grasping an outlook or opinion without any fact's to back it up, does that make sense?

No. What it does show, however, is that there is a fair degree of consensus that the track isn't great and was put on the calendar so as Ecclestone could rake in yet more cash at the expense of good-quality Grand Prix action.

I wholeheartedly agree with this outlook and I know you keep up more with all the detail's than I do. I think my perception of what you said, and your meaning, was off. I apologize for that Chris and if I seemed to be confrontational that was, as I'm sure you know, not my intention mate.

I hope it's dry & as hot as hell

I can't find any forecasts that far ahead as of yet, and even if I could the weather is likely to be different from what would be forecast this far out, but so far it's looking to be 93° F / 34° C Friday but with thunderstorms coming along Friday night. One website venturing a guess for as far as Sunday is predicting 88° F and scattered thunderstorms. Regardless, the forecast is looking to be at least in the upper 80's all week.

EDIT:
I realize that I first said I couldn't find any forecasts going as far as next weekend and then mentioned one, but at the time that I said I couldn't find any I hadn't yet found any.

The track may not look the most exciting in the world, but you don't need an exciting track to have an exciting race. As long as it's better than Valenci-yawn that's fine with me.

What if they made it more street authentic.
Have functioning traffic lights, random people chancing their luck by running across the street in front of you.
Some bendy buses...
That would certainly spice it up

If they had more white lines on the track and had kerbs a foot high that would improve Valencia.

if you really wanna spice up a night race have random light outtages for a second or to around the track
