Some team principals want to level the engines power, but Mosley took this to the next level. Same engine for everyone? This simplifies the technological aspect of F1. I wonder who would do the development (if it's allowed), and which engine would it be. And also suspensions and gearboxes would be the same. If this would be happening right now we wouldn't have things like the seamless gearbox, because there would be no development.
Besides, right now there are teams running on engines they haven't built themselves. How standard engine would be cheaper?

Mosley should just encourage Cosworth to make an "off the shelf" engine that is cheap, reliable, and powerful enough to not be miles behind say a Ferrari engine. Manufacturers and manufacturer backed teams should still be able to carry on as they please, but new entrants with a small budget should be given the "off the shelf" engine.

If EVERYONE starts using the same engine, F1 will end up like Indycars.

Mosely is even more of a moron than I have given him credit for. F1 with common mechanical everything...that is a joke, and I swear to god I will stop watching the moment this happens.

So if they do this and they then have say a McLaren-Ferrari team, who do the hell do I go for, McLaren-Ferrari or Scuderia Ferrari? That is about as dumb as an osel! (Donkey). I doubt Max Mosley will get his way here. None of the teams will ever agree with it. Never!

Also wasn't there a rumour a year or so ago though that Mosley wanted 1 litre V4 engines or something stupid along those lines? You wouldn't even hit 100mph with something puny like that!
