I recieved some exciting news this morning concerning my application with the sheriffs dept, I was told I will be recieveing a call from them within the next few days ! Here is a short but comprehensive story.

1. It take's atleast 3 month's for the dept to do all their background check which I knew. I heard from them after two week's of submitting my app on June 12th as they were enquireing about a few detail's and also asked what my goal's are with the sheriff's dept. Then NOTHING for the next 10 week's.

2. My uncle is a deputy sheriff, who has been very supportive and know's how the system work's, told me that if it has been almost three month's and you have not recieved a denial letter you should be just fine. On a side note I recieved a 'denial of employment' from his agency in less than one week, 8 month's ago, but it is a VERY tough agency to get on .

Also I have an 'inside connection', who said he would make SURE I got the job, within the dept I'm persueing and I was reassured by him that I am "IN" just be patient. After speaking with my uncle, which I failed to mention was about 3 week's ago, I called my connection for some moral support and he told me I will be fine. One may ask why I needed or wanted an 'inside connection' so please let me address that. It seem's that all of our police/law enforcement agency's are way under funded aswell as under staffed but they adhere to a very strict requirement code. I meet ALL of the requirement's accept for having a spotless credit record, which is from along time ago, but there are ALOT worse. My 'inside connection' told me NOT to worry about that he will get me the job.

Also as your life goes on you find out that sometime's it's not what you know but WHO you know.

So basically as everyone can see I just needed to vent for moral support so PLEASE say a prayer for me? I had thought about getting into law enforcement 20yr's ago but I did not persue it and regret it now.

Well I recieved a denial of employment for, oh how can I put this, stupid f bullpoo but there is still hope . I just spoke with the bigdog himself, the sheriff, and he is going to re-review my application which he did not do apparently. I sat down with the chief deputy himself last week and pleaded my case but he has not contacted me, like he said he or someone would do, and my 'inter dept contact' told me to speak DIRECTLY with the BOSS so I did that today. Speaking with the sheriffs secretary she was supposed to be verifying a 9am meeting for tomorrow morning but then all the sudden the sheriff himself was on the phone !

I explained to him the minor reasons that I was initially denied for and he said he will review my application more thoroughly, it is apparent that he was not made aware of alot of things from the chief. My main disillusion is that the law enforcement agency's do not take into account that people change and they are not the person they were 20yr's ago or even 10yr's ago which imo is .

I joined the Gym today for a positive change, going to be awesome! Myself and my sister to get ready for the RAF again

Going to do a Toning class on a Monday night- Bums, Tums and Thighs

And use Gym about 3-4 times a week

Just got approved for a student loan for the local community college's police academy but sadly class does not start until Feb '09. My loan will pay for school, all expense's and bill's and I dont have to start repaying until I finish school and start working !! When I graduate I will be state certified to become a police officer immediately instead of having to wait 2yr's being a jailer, woohoo!!!

Dont start asking for 'cavity search's' just yet I'll let ya know when I'm certifiably certified!!
