I saw how bad the hurricane was when I watched the news yesterday. I hope your okay Gregg. If you missed the race, I suggest you get a copy of it, for it was a classic.

It was playing havock up in Indianapolis.
They had to stop the 125cc and Motogp races early and the 250 race has been cancelled.
So if it that bad up there, the lone star state has took a pounding.

Ike came and visited me here in southeastern Ohio Sunday afternoon. It wasn't a hurricane anymore, of course, but it was still kinda windy. It helped my dogs escape their kennel out back by moving it over a hole in the ground through which they crawled out. Thanks a bunch, Ike.

Thank's everyone very much for your concern it mean's ALOT to me and my family . Anyway it was one HELL of a weekend and we went 34hr's without power/phone contact. It was one hell of a storm and the house was shaking as 80+mph wind's tormented us. Our power came back on yesterday morning at 10am but it still rained most of the day so cleanup could not truelly start until today. We started at 9am and finished around 5pm and this old dog is tired lol!

My mom's youngest sister Myra stayed with us, because she was smart, but her kid's are skattered and she live's on a lake but her hubby Robert, very downhome and personable guy, stayed to keep a watch on the house.

My aunt Myra, who is as cool as the day is long, was not able to talk to her kid's or husband since friday until today which was very frustrating for her aswell as us all. Anyway everyone is safe that is the most important thing.

Mere word's cannot express my gratitude to those who have expressed their concern for me and my family. You guy's and gal's are truelly awesome and I aswell as my family, they told me to let you know , that your concern for us mean's ALOT! Thank you.

Hope everything is alright Tex... I know how devastating hurricaines are, the worst is the first walk outside after the storm.

We here felt some winds some rain brought by Ike... around friday - saturday last week. It was still far from the coast but still it poured and was really windy. It was a monster storm.

Ouch! No one worried about me Man Gregg that's pretty bad, do you have power back yet? College Station didn't get hit too bad, we lost a tree and had some rain but nothing too bad. We sat on our roof and watched it come in

It's not funny. Okay, maybe it's worth a chortle. It's also likely not effective, but if you don't want your early '90s vintage Buick Century to be washed or blown away by nature's fury, you try stuff. Besides, if you're in the midst of an evacuation frenzy, what do you really have time to do? It looks like this owner had the opportunity to toss a carpet on the roof and use what looks like a garden hose to hopefully keep the Buick from washing into the next county. Perhaps the carpet is indicative that the car might make a gnarly floating platform once the flood hits, and what better way to show off than by sipping Pepper Eaters on the only carpeted raft in town as the eye passes overhead? Turning a tree into an impromptu mooring will keep the potential party barge in the harbor, too. Since the Century won't float for too long without some aftermarket modifications, and hurricanes are no fun, especially when they're the size of Texas, we'll just hope that this person's car and carpet weathered the storm unscathed.
