Alonso after hearing the news:

:hehe:

How Alonso's career has turned. He was probably expecting to win a few titles at McLaren and go down as a legend of the sport. Now, he's racing at Renault with no prospect of success and is pinning his hopes on BMW for the future (although, to be fair, they look like a team that is going somewhere). If does end up at BMW, Kubica certainly won't be second-in-command anyway. :D

well well well!

im glad kimi is at ferrari, dont really like him, really dont like ferarri, so that works

on alonso
hmm, as long as he doesnt get all bitter id love to see him stay at renault, would loose respect for him if he went to honda, and could understand if he went to bmw,

i think its now quite important that renault get on terms with bmw, for the sake of keeping a decent driver, [piquet went back to the early season at spa, boo!] as long as he behaves

It makes sense really, if you've got a driver capable of winning the WDC you want him to stay, and in this case, more importantly, it pretty much shows Raikkonen hasn't lost his commitment/motivation etc...

Raikkonen seems to be a guy that drifts through life and people don't seem to mind

I totally agree. I'm not really a big Ferrari fan but i'm glad to see kimi stay cause i am a fan of his (has been since his Sauber days). I think along with his lack of motivation, which we do see from time to time, he does have some of the worst luck in formula one as pointed out by Alonso in an interview a couple weeks ago. Had it not been for some of the incidents which were out of his control, he would be in a better position right now. As for his motivation, he seems to drive better when he "Needs too" (dont know what happened last sunday). Regarding the driver market. . I dont know what's going to happen to Alonso, Nick or Bourdais, or whose going to fill that vacant Toro Roso but, but it will all be revealed soon.

I expect honda to become a top team under the leadership of Brawn so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go there. Alonso at BMW would also be a good combo as long as he doesn't demand Kubica become his number 2. Maybe Renault will be back near the front next year but unless it is guaranteed I think Alonso is going to be out of there

he is the reigning world champion FFS show some respect

His world championship deserves respect.

His performance this year does not. It's quite possible that he will come back next year all guns blazing after a wake up call. Otherwise I'm reminded of the original Nelson Piquet near the end of his career.
