longer wheelbase???

Well:
Briatore ordered engineers to start work on the 'R27B', which could debut as soon as the first Grand Prix in Europe.
Renault engineers are apparently already agreed that the R27's wheelbase is too short, leading to a lack of grip when using the new Bridgestone control tyres.

Indeed, team boss Briatore told us in Melbourne: "We had balanced our car with Michelin and the moment we put the Bridgestones on was a shock."

Looks like Ferrari did a better job at doing their homework...

Yeah, yeah, I can hear already the comments about Ferrari and Bridgestone. But remember, there were other Bridgestone teams and none chose the longer wheelbase.

why would any team choose a longer wheel base without being hinted to do so?? its not like the bridgestones they are using this year are a continuation of last years thus being on them in 06 wouldnt have made planning the 07 car any different to michelin teams. only inside knowledge of the compounds for 07 would have led designers to choose a longerwheelbase. Ferrari were the ONLY team to introduce a longer wheelbase than the previous years car.. Ferrari are the ONLY team to share a close relationship with Bridgestone.
