From what I've been reading online this evening, most Ferrari fans don't believe there was anything for which Hamilton could be penalised, but were happy to see him get penalised. So, I'm afraid, the majority of the tifosi have not got one iota of sportsmanship.

While I agreed that there are some tifosi on this board and Mcupporters don't see eye to eye, everyone cheers for their team in any sport no matter how they win, we just need to seperate what happened in Spa is between the FIA and Mclaren not the tifosi or Ferrari because they did not lodge any complains.

Ferrari did indeed lodge a protest and what do you think during the stewards interview Ferrari would have been on McLarens side( the right side) ?? youre kidding yourself they are gutless and will take a win any how

im def no mclaren fan, and def not lh, but the guy drove a good race, and deserved the win, kr ballsed it up, and massa just couldnt do it,

i thought when i heard about the investigation, nah itll never happen, and itd be fair enough if hamilton hadve kept the place, but he did give it back, and conditions were getting bad, so it shouldve been left,

plus kovi gets a penalty where others have not

then, just a few weeks ago, ferrari get off for being dangerous in the pit lane

well

im gonna have to agree, the fia are biased, and this is for me the strongest proof,

im a bit disgusted and disilusioned with f1 now,

the best race since i can remember, ruined!

i repeat, im not a lh fan, but this is just not fair, and has made me atually like lh a little more, feel for the guy, i really do

Well, I went all day thinking I just watched a wonderful race with an exciting conclusion. I felt bad for Räikkönen, going into the wall right before the end of a a race that he lead, but was happy to see Hamilton take the victory. Hamilton was handed the trophy, sprayed the champagne, and was interviewed as the race champion. Then later this evening I find out that things have been shuffled around and now he's third.

:irked::bs:

I hope McLaren wins their appeal. Yes, it was an iffy situation, but after reviewing it several times I don't see it as something Hamilton deliberately did. It looks to me as though he was simply fighting to get around Räikkönen, ended up pinched between Räikkönen and the edge of the track, and found himself with nowhere else to go at that point. F1 drivers end up unintentionally off the track all the time, and it looks to me to simply be another case of it here.

From: The stewards of the meeting

To: The team manager, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

The stewards, having received a report from the Race Director and having met with the drivers and team managers involved, have considered the following matter, determine a breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor and impose the penalty referred to.

No./driver: 22, Lewis Hamilton

Time: 15:21:33

Facts: Cut the chicane and gained an advantage

Offence: Breach of Article 30.3(a) of the 2008 FIA Formula 1 sporting regulations and Appendix L chapter 4 Article 2 (g) of the International Sporting Code.

Penalty: Drive-through penalty (Article 16.3 (a)), since this is being applied at the end of the race, 25 seconds will be added to the driver’s elapsed race time.

FIA Stewards of the Meeting

Received by: Lewis Hamilton, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

The reality is that had there been a wall at that corner then Hamilton would have braked hard and dropped in behind Raikkonen. Consequently, braking hard would also have meant that Hamilton would drop to a slower than required speed to take the corner, and on exiting Raikkonen would have pulled a good 2-3 car lengths on him. Therefore Hamilton would never have been in a position to pass him at the next corner.

But instead Hamilton didn’t do that, he kept his speed by crossing the track and waited for Raikkonen to catch up where he then was able to duck in to within a foot or two of Kimi’s rear wing, (a place he certainly would not have been had he driven within the rules) and then used the slip stream to pass him at the end of the next corner.

Now feel free to tell me why someone who voluntarily broke the rules, and gained an advantage by doing so, should escape punishment.

Would anyone care to discuss the merits of robbing a bank, and then on realising the police were outside waiting for you, you decide to return the money. According to most on this forum (Hamiltonites/Ferrari haters) you haven’t committed any crime…..lol

I think this might be the last straw i cannot stand to watch Formula Ferrari anymore!

I'm really getting tired of the sport. There have been times in the past where I've felt like turning off and never watching Formula One again, but I've never felt able to for several reasons. I'm not just disappointed and very angry for Hamilton and McLaren, but I feel embarrassed to be a Formula One fan. I was watching the race today with my brother who wonders why I watch something that is fixed and my uncle who likes to stick the boot into the sport whenever he can. They're having a field day at the moment.

Err... what sport?

Haven't we already agreed some time ago that F1 has became more like WWF than real sport..?

the reality is you know nothing about Racing if there was a wall there Lewis would not have attempted that pass would he now????

i really hate you Ferrari fans you know nothing about racing you probably have never raced anything in your pathetic little lives so just STFU and feel happy your team wins in such ways

Hey! I finally remembered my password! And I'm back! :wavey:

And I'm so pissed off I really wanna swear (and I usually don't). :banghead:

This is my first F1 season that I've actually followed, race-by-race. It even overtook my favourite sport soccer. And I can already see how lame Formula One can be. I love the action. I love the tactics and the strategy. And I love the fact that, despite the fact that the Max Mosely and the FIA have been out to get Hamilton all season, he's still managed to come out on top.

I'd like to cast our minds back to Magny Cours. Hamilton was given 2 penalties, plus the grid spot penalty (which he did deserve, because of the Raikonen crash at Montreal... so hilarious, and the only highlight of the season. :D ), did any of the stewards notice the chunk of Ferrari Engine hanging off the side of Kimmi's car? I was actually worried. And then I saw that dangerous object fly off the back of his car, and my heart skipped a beat. I hoped that it wouldn't gravely injure anyone. Thankfully it didn't.

Now let's pave the way for the race at my favourite track, Spa Franchorchamps. My heart sank when Raikonen took the lead. :(
I was going to turn it off, and then I saw the rain prediction. Just maybe... just maybe I thought. The rain came. And what I saw was the greatest highlight I have ever seen out of every race I have ever watched in Formula One. 5 seconds closed down to a nanosecond. And OMG! isn't it great to see some overtaking! Isn't it great to see the action!

It was 1am. And I got out of bed and pumped fist in the air, and I let out the loudest scream I had ever let out, in my small unit with plaster-thin walls, when Hamilton overtook Raikonen. (I'm sure I'm spelling his name wrong!) Then Raikonen got back. Hamilton was off the road. My heart sank again. Half a second later, Raikonen spins. My short-lived PB of the "Loudest Scream I Have Ever Let Out" was broken, 1 second since the previous best. And then, a few seconds later, the short-lived record was again broken, because Raikonen crashed into the wall.

Hamilton crossed the line, and I was punching the air and slapping myself and - heck, I have bruises. I was sooo happy. Just before I went to sleep, they said something about Hamilton being investigated for an incident. I thought - and I'm usually right - that they wouldn't give Hamilton a penalty. I set the alarm, and went to sleep.

-------

5 hours later, my alarm went off. The TV was still on. So I got up, turned off the alarm, checked that my phone alarm would still go off, and went back to sleep. As I was falling asleep, the T.V. said:

After an amazing race at the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was surprisingly stripped off his win because...

I sat up, immediately.

WHAT THE F**K!!!:yikes:

I'm mad. I am very, very mad. Is it worth it, watching every race? Is it worth it, staying up till the early hours on a Monday Morning? They better change that decision. They better!

Otherwise, my short-lived passion for Formula 1 is gone. Over. And I will sue Max Mosely and demand for 2 hours of my life back, for every damn race that I have watched this season.

Actually, maybe I'll watch every race. Every minute. And when Hamilton wins the drivers championship at the end of it all, he must be known as the GREATEST DRIVER IN FORMULA 1 HISTORY.

Why?

Hamilton doesn't have only 19 other competitors. No. Hamilton has every God-damn authority in Formula 1, every race steward, Max Mosely, half of the Formula 1 fans in the world, and every God-damn journalist, critic, politician, and businessman on the planet against him. And when Hamilton is standing up there with that trophy, we will have to know that he is something special. :director:

And now, I'm gonna change my siggy to something along those lines. :D
