"The various teams' methods of mounting the floor have been known to the FIA scrutineers for some time. The Ferrari floor, for one, has passed scrutineering in every race it was used so far, at least since the Japanese Grand Prix last year."

Yeah but that was Renault, this is Ferrari - isn't that what the 'F' in FIA stands for?!

Did Ferrari have so much clout with the FIA prior to Schumacher joining them?

Used to be friends with a journalist that was of the opinion Ferrari were so powerful because of Michael Schumacher's influence...

FIA didn't cut Ferrari any slack about the Flexible Wing last year (and they weren't the only ones using it), so I don't see how they are somehow in cahoots? Also, the single tyre rule introduced by the FIA in 2005, totally screwed Ferrari.

The Stewards did seem to over the past decade let Ferrari slide on some things. I don't think it had anything to do with Schumacher. I think that it gradually came about that Ferrari was such a big part of F1, and more specificaly F1 viewership.
