Sorry everyone I need to vent so please bare with me I would truelly appreciate it .

First scenario:
My friend Shari who I have known for 25+yr's, we grewup in the same neighborhood, came into town this weekend and I opened my home to her as she did for me in the past and she know's my home is her home. Well I talked to her sat morning at 10am and she said I will be there by 1pm, cool! Well it hit's 5pm and still no Shari so I call her. Long story short she never showed up and would not return my 5-6 phonecall's throughout the weekend. I called her mom on Monday worried about her and to see if she had heard from Shari. Well guess what her mom told me 'oh I just talked to her 15min's ago and she is still in Houston'!!! Shari is like a sister to me so it is not one of those booty call scenario's.

Why do people do that to the people who love them?

Second scenario:
Another longtime friend John called me and asked if I could help him complete a few job's, he is a house painter/remodeler, last Sunday and I told him whatever you need dog I'm there. So I accumilate 15hr's, which is enough to pay my car insurance, and was told I would be paid yesterday or today but then he up's and quit's a very good paying job because of his ego, believe me I have known him for about 20yr's so I know of what I speak. Now I'm told that I'll give you some here and there, WTF!!

Regarding Shari I'm more worried than I am mad but still? Now regarding John he is a super person and friend who would, and has, taken the shirt off his back for someone but that is also no excuse.

Am I the weak person because I love them both so much, which allow's them to take advantage of me?

I would be annoyed at the girl who did not turn up as I am sure if she had called and told you what was going on you would of been annoyed but no big deal.

As for John, I assume he "Privatly Contracted" you to help him out. then he lost his job. did he get paid for the job? if so, so should you. but on the other hand if he does not have a job then he is going to need all the money he can get.

First off, I'm sorry that you were kinda messed around like that.
I think we've all been in situation like this with friends who we thought maybe held the same respect/appreciation for you as you did for them.
Heck it even happened to me tonight, my friend had been away for weeks working on the ships and that, and was asking me to meet him, only for him to go off out with others to the pub.

It's not the same as what's happened to you, but what will be the same is, even though they have annoyed you, you still won't be able to fall out with them.

I finally recieved an email from Shari and she told me "well I found something better to do" which was going out and getting f'ed up all weekend. She know's I have turned my life around and I dont do that anymore, I had steak's ready for the grill and all the beer she could drink just waiting for her along with all the comfort's of home.
Oh well eventually friend's end up going their seperate way's and that is just part of life.

Now concerning John he has/had another job that was 99% completed which I know is finished but oh well. Atleast I finally learned my lesson to never help him again when he call's me begging for my help.

Hey, no problem.
Shari sounds like alot of people... drink comes number one. Certainly that's what it seems from my position.
I mean I don't drink at all. People can drink for all I care, I have nothing against it. It's just when it becomes the "something better to do" that bugs me.
