I thought it was a bit harsh in an interview on ITV he said:
"Its time for the people of spain to get over the madrid disaster and look forward to the race in valencia and me winning"

did make me cringe,

maybe he needs a new PR.

He said that. Ummm :nono: That was very stupid. Well in 2007 he wasn't like that. He was the devil on the track for a Ferrari tifosi point of view but as a person he was a good guy. In 2008 he somewhat has changed. That comment lacks total empathy. Totally unacceptable behaviour. I know a few Spanish retards made fun of his race earlier this year but to take it out on all Spaniards is wrong. How would he feel if he lost a loved one? He talks a lot on how close he is with his family (In his book) so for him to say stupid things like this is beyond me. Maybe he has a problem of not being able to think before he speaks. I am sure if Lewis Hamilton actually thought about what he was about to say before he said it, that he would probably not say it. Surely he can't of turned into a complete moron in the space of a year.

I think it was before qualifying or after qualifying. and they were interviewing him, Alonso and massa at seperate times asking on there views on the disaster. Massa said something about something similar happened in brazil around the time of the brazilian GP and so on...

He probably said it. I guess it was a bit harsh as the Madrid tragedy involved the death of almost 100 people. But the part about him saying "I am going to win the race", arrogant it is, but I like it. Just unfortunate he drives for the wrong team but as a person I am starting to like him and his attitude.

Hamilton has been misquoted numerous times on here by various people. Before making judgements about him on the basis of this, I'd look for proof that he said and the context in which the remarks were said.

That book, Lewis Hamilton My Story, makes you want to like the guy. *Shruggs* He isn't such a bad guy. The only bad thing he has ever done was get behind the wheel of a McLaren. Otherwise he really isn't such a bad guy at all.

There's something you're not telling us isn't there? :P
