I have to say that I'm a little bit disappointed this afternoon. As I said yesterday, the venue still requires a bit of work, but it will most likely improve over the next year or two. We are stuck with the track layout, however. There was very little overtaking today and the field spread was on par with levels seen at, say, Silverstone. Even with slicks and reduction in the importance of aerodynamic grip, I'm still not certain we'll see a hell of a lot more on-track action at the circuit. Another thing that frustrated me today was the quality of directing. For example, there were several occasions on which viewers were seeing good-quality on-board footage of the cars, but, just as a good sequence of corners was coming up, the picture would change to something else, so we couldn't enjoy seeing the on-board footage!

I've changed my mind as well about that track it is to boring. Hopefully it is a better race next year with the rules coming in.

Worse than Catalunya? The Spanish sure know how to put on terrible Formula One races. If Ecclestone wasn't so worried about his money, giving Jerez a go mightn't be a bad idea. The only problem with this could be that as the teams have done a lot of testing there, the drivers, engineers etc. would all be very familiar with it. So, despite it being a decent track, the race could still be pretty rubbish.

Today's race was definately worse than this year's race at Catalunya, at least the safety came out there, but that still doesn't change the fact it was the worst race of the season tie-ing with Malaysia, Magny-Bores and Hungary right up to today.

I have a trouble remembering a lot of Grands Prix, or perhaps that's because a lot of the tracks are poor, so there is nothing to remember!

Like I said in one of the other threads, I think it will become more interesting as the years go on. All the overtaking spots are there, but the field spread out far too quickly today (which I feel was partially because of a lot of teams not having the engine to match the Ferrari and Mercedes units and partly because guys like Massa, Hamilton and Kubica had found a better way around the track much quicker than others) and so we missed out on a lot of action. Races with evenly-matched cars, like the GP2 and the F3 a few weeks ago, were quite exciting to watch, so the problem lies with the sport more than the track, in this case.

I feel that even races like Monza and Spa will be mediocre in terms of action when compared to GP2 this year, too. :/

I agree with both passages of your post. Monza and Spa both require high levels of engine horsepower, so I expect McLaren and Ferrari to be a cut above the rest, with Ferrari having an edge over McLaren due the differences in chassis and aerodynamic design. Monza will be a similar story most likely, with McLaren and Ferrari being well ahead of everybody and the former having a slight edge to the MP4-23 good mechanical grip etc. So, basically, the business end of the grid is sorted. The only thing that may create a bit of excitement at Spa is seeing how Raikkonen does. Even if he can't get his front tyres warmed up enough to put in a good qualifying lap, he has the ability and car to move up the positions in the race, provided he turns up in the right frame of mind. There is the potential of some action further down the grid, probably between Toro Rosso and Toyota, and Renault and Red Bull, but the television directors don't usually show us too much of the cars further down the grid anyway.

Yeah, I can see it being that way. I can also see the Toro Rosso and Toyota teams getting some good results in those two races, seeing as both the Ferrari and Toyota engines are pretty fast. Maybe Williams will pick up a few points, too. I'm quite happy with what the next month or so has to offer, to be honest. My three favourite tracks are coming up, along with a brand new one. I can't wait

I like the track. The race was boring... but the track is really nice.
With a few "corrections" (Such as pit lane entry/exit and some more livery) i believe it could be one of the nicest...
