And James Allen started blabbering on about a local tomato throwing contest for a while, maybe he should go there and have some thrown at him.

Great drive Massa  I think he is starting to prove his WDC potential, And proved me wrong.

Very smart drive for hammy. Getting points every race may very well win it for him with no unnecessary mistakes. He has realized he does not need to win every race.

Also very good drives from Robert and Vettel.
Vettel probably drive of the day.

Bad luck for Kimi, but I am very disappointed with his performance seeing the pace of Massa. I think he may suddenly be No 2.

Ferrari team effort  A bit worrying on many fronts.
Will hold my opinion on the pit incident till we see what comes out, but my initial feeling is he should get some penalty.

yeah Mike i have the same conclusion for Ferrari. they shot themselves in the foot with their pit stops they didnt need to do that for Massa! I think if he does get a penalty it wont change the result of Valencia.
Team mistakes aside Felipe again drove the perfect race just as he did in Hungary! He is a man on a mission and again he is really impressing me

Kimi i think his season is over Ferrari has to put their efforts behind Massa now!!!!

Same country, same boring procession... :gay2:

Yeah, it was the most boring race I've seen to date. Although we did get on clean pass by Nakajima, it was just not exciting to even follow the times. This track needs one thing - rain

Yeah that was a good pass by Nakajima, but I was dissapointed he wrecked his race when he ran into the back of Alonso because he will have been 1 stopping and could have been where Glock was.

Well, that was a race that promised so much but delivered absolutely nothing. The race was processional and there were no crashes to rev things up a bit with a safety car period.

Massa put in another good drive, once again making Raikkonen look a complete nobody. It's now time for Ferrari to give Massa their backing for the drivers' title. Raikkonen is clearly not interested and, in my view, certainly not deserving of winning the title. You could argue that Massa is not as gifted as some of the other drivers, but at least he is knocking his pan and doing all he can for himself and the team. He's certainly earned my repsect for that. Ferrari did the right thing in not asking Massa not move out of the way for Raikkonen. Yeah, Raikkonen's strategy may have been affected, but he was well out of the equation and it perhaps shows that Ferrari are now leaning towards Massa. Also, Ferrari need to abolish this smart-arse pit-release system they have and bring back a good old-fashioned lollipop man. That would have prevented both pitlane incidents today.

Hamilton drove a very intelligent race once again today. Hamilton could probably have got closer to Massa, but that would have meant driving the car like a nutter, which was precisely the wrong thing to do given the high temperatures, the bumps on the circuit and the softer tyre compounds. Kovalainen is really starting to annoy me now. This is the time of the season when I was expecting him to come strong and show us what he can do, but he was again outclassed by Hamilton. He is making it more difficult for Hamilton to win the drivers' title by not even challenging the Ferraris and is seriously hindering McLaren's chances of winning the constructors' championship. He's had his period of grace, now I think it's fair for McLaren to be asking him to deliver. He has the potential and I'm still willing to give him more time and see how he does next season, but I'm also not prepared to hide the fact that I think he should be doing substantially better.

Kubica showed his class again, easily out-racing Heidfeld and adapting very quickly to the bag or something that was affecting the handling and performance of his car.

It was good to see Williams get a point today, which is really the best they could have hoped for under normal circumstances. Nakajima's mistake didn't cost them too much, for he was not going to be in the points today anyway. Thankfully for Williams, Renault had an unlucky weekend, partly because of Nakajima, partly because Piquet is not up to standard and partly because their car is not fast enough, and also that Red Bull had a poor weekend. Toyota, however, had another decent weekend and are favorites to get forth in the constructors' title in my view.

Vettel was my driver of the day and weekend, however. He showed his class by adapting the odd conditions in qualifying, learning the circuit much faster than many of the other drivers, outclassed Bourdais on a circuit you would expect him to do reasonably well on given his experience in North American racing, and didn't do much wrong all weekend. Had he not have made a small error in qualifying, he could have finished another place or two higher.

I must say that was an extremely boring race. I am extremely dissapointed, and I fear that Singapore will be the same. I think Tilke should design a track with no overtaking in mind, because everytime he designs one with overtaking in mind, it's a boring race. Better yet, he shouldnt design tracks at all.

For the past 2 races, Massa has shown that he can take this world title.
If reliability is ok, Ferrari should be 1-2 in Spa (id think Kimi would be 1st)
Monza I think will be closer than just a Mclaren runaway, and Sinagpore will probably be quite disappointing unless we get the "promised" Valencia crashes.
Id say Hamilton will be favourite for Fuji, (with or without rain), China might be a different matter.
Say the title race goes to the wire in Brazil and the gaps about a couple ofpoints... Massa will be mighty in Interlagos!

I honestly think that today's race being processional was less to do with track layout and more to do with the fact that it's brand new and the drivers haven't had the years to get used to it. Obviously, the better drivers would be able to learn it quicker, but some of those were in cars that just did not compare to the front runners. Give it a year or so, with a decent amount of practice, and I'm quite sure that the racing would be a lot more interesting.

What a crap boring race

I hope Singapore is far far better than this piece of s*** that I saw today

Anyways

Great place up by Heikki at the beginning

Did feel for Fernando, poor guy

Ferrari and there pit stops, hmmm let me see where did they do wrong, okay so firstly they nearly hit another car and secondly a mechanic manages to knock himself out, pretty bad day for them, Massa may have won but they still had those pit problems and Kimi's engine didn't last

Glad to see Robert back on podium

Nice results for Mclaren

Overall, was a waste of a race today, wait 3 weeks for what ???

The only thing i can really add to what has already been said is that today could be considered YET ANOTHER example of the current points system having a bad effect on the competitiveness of races.
