if he does it will only be a grid spot for the next GP or a monetary penalty i dont think they will change the result of Valencia. though the Kimi pitstop wont do Ferrari any favours

Massa gave way. So I say no.
I didn't think that much of it until the ITV commentary team started banging on about it.
Maybe, despite not being a Massa a fan, I feel sorry for him from the last race & don't think he deserves to lose 2 races in a row through no fault of his own.
Not ones he did all the right things to win.

I was really surprised when the stewards decided to investigate the incident after the race, but having seen what they said after the race, I guess it's because they want to look at the telemetry on both cars at the time.

I think Massa should be penalised, but I don't think his race victory should be taken away from him.

So, here starts the discussion. Should (will) Massa get a penalty.

No I dont think he should be penalised because the blame should be directed more toward's the team and not the driver for this particular incident, strictly my opinion though.

I believe that he should and will get a penalty.

Please remove the 'Ferrari' from your board name then and insert another team's name :irked: !

Are there precedents for this kind of event where penalties were not given? Thinking about it, I seem to remember cars being side by side in the pitlane a number of times, but can't quote drivers and races. There were penalties given in the GP2 race, which I suppose is partially relevant.

I certainly don't agree with FM's comments that Sutil should have let him go.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say here. I'm trying to evaluate the event and its proper consequences without allowing team allegiances to colour my reasoning. Are you suggesting that I must adopt a "Ferrari is always right" policy or I'm not a Ferrari fan?

You say it will only be a grid spot for the next GP. If FM had been given a stop-go, then he probably would have finished second. If he gets a ten place grid penalty, then this could easily end up being a more severe punishment than the stop-go.

A fine would clearly be a less severe punishment. Unless it's $100 million.

Dont punish Massa that would be unfair! Its a team fault so the team should be penalised rather than the driver. And ban those lights for gods sake!!

Please... Two drivers side by side, it's allowed isn't it? We've seen many such incidents before, I don't remember anyone getting a penalty after that.

The FIA will probably have listened to James Allen making a fool of himself again today when talking about a tomato throwing contest and ask Ferrari to repaint their car "Tomato red".
