Raikkonen is still having some problems in getting his front tyres up to temperature, but he looks pretty good over longer runs and probaly has more fuel onboard than his teammate, so I would not discount him from winning the race tomorrow.
I'm not really sure what to think about McLaren. I expected that the team would have a slight advantage given that McLaren lead the way in race simulators etc., because the track was green and the temperatures fairly low. Kovalainen has probably got more fuel onboard than Hamilton, but, even so, he still looks a couple of tenths slower than his teammate. This is the part of the season I was expecting more from him. McLaren need him to get his act together fast in order to win the constructors' title and take points of the Ferrari drivers.
It's no surprise that Vettel was quick. The track conditions were unusual and the circuit was new, so a youngster of his class was bound to be near the top of the timesheet. Bourdais did pretty well, which is not a surprise given that the track looks like something from North American racing. That Vettel out-qualified him - and he could well have gone faster had he not have made a small mistake and, I suspect, stuck a little bit too much fuel in his car - shows how good he is.
Heidfeld is starting to annoy me. He always tries to qualify so late on in the session, a time that the track is immensely busy, so is often stuck in traffic. Yeah, he shoud not be blocked, the onus is also on Heifeld to qualify a better time. I'm surprised that Glock wasn't penalised today given the lack of common sense and draconian nature of the stewards and FIA. Glock not being penalised also shows the inconsistencies in Formula One's stewarding system. Bourdais is punished in the last Grand Prix for nothing, but Glock escapes a penalty despite being more in the wrong than what Bourdais was!
It's good to see Williams looking better this weekend. Both drivers did well and they seemed to get their setups more or less spot on. I'm not sure if they'll get too many points, however. The Renaults' race pace will most likely be poor and BMW seem to have made some improvements over the summer break. Unless one or two people retire from the race, they'll do well to get a point. As a consolation for this likely scenario, however, Renault and Red Bull aren't doing so well and Glock is pretty far behind them.
