That's because they're good at Rugby. Wales and N.Ireland are well crap at football

Great Britain won the Olympic Football tournament in 1896, 1900, 1908 and 1912. However that was in the very early days. Nowadays there is no such football team as Great Britain. It is either England, Scotland, Wales or Nothern Ireland. All are really seperate countries but United as one kingdom also known as the United Kingdom or Great Britain. In many sports competitions they compete as seperate countries. Ie in football, rugby, cricket and The Commonwealth Games. But then again in many sports they are one country as in the Olympics, F1, and tennis to name a few. It makes no sense and is inconsistent. They should do it one way or the other. Not however they feel like it. At the moment it really makes no sense and is comfusing. But with football I guess they are all to passionate. I don't think the English want to play with the Scots etc and vice versa. Even their respective leagues are seperate. Goodluck with putting a Great Britain football team for 2012.
Dutchcruijff wrote:That's because they're good at Rugby. Wales and N.Ireland are well crap at footballWe haven't been doing too badly lately. We would have qualified for the European Championships had Sanchez not have disappeared and been replaced with Worthless, sorry, Worthington. Also, we are the second smallest ever team to qualify for the World Cup, the smallest ever team to do it repeatedly, and the smallest ever team to qualify for the quarter finals. Not bad for a country with a population of 1.5 million (of which a fair chunk prefers to play for/support the Republic of Ireland and/or supports or plays for the GAA).

I'm not interested in watching England's bunch of over-paid spice boys playing under some guise of national unity.

I would love to see 20Twenty as an Olympic event, Cricket is more international than Baseball!al4x wrote:Why do you dislike football so much? Football is great.
