From Planet F1:

Flavio Briatore was pelted with sand and water from angry locals when he landed a dingy on a crowded beach on the Sardinian coast.

Briatore, together with a party that included his new wife Elisabetta Gregoraci, was bombarded by jeers and whistles as well as sand and water when he stormed the beach in his dingy, having moored his yacht just off the coast.

According to La Stampa "terrorized children wailed between the waves" as the dingy interrupted their play while families tried to push the dingy back out to sea.

"How can they come so close to the shore in these boats, there are children here," shouted one woman according to the newspaper.

"These people think they rule the world," another person told the paper. "He's going to buy up the bar, then the beach, and what are we going to be left with?"

Briatore, though, wasn't too impressed with the greeting he got from the beach-goers.

"We are nice people and we get rewarded like this," he told the Corriere Della Sera newspaper. "I will close down everything. I pay taxes, this is my right."

:hehe:

Nice people - yeah, right.

It plays well with the way I see Flavio. Arrogant, money-loaded crook.

Pity it was a sand beach :D

The same thing happened to Roman Abramovich. He couldn't get into a restaurant because it was fully booked. The Italians are tired of rich people flaunting their cash while the rest of the people suffer in the economic downturn. To be honest I don't blame them

Oh yeah, what's he going to close down? His boat? The Renault factory? QPR's training ground? People like him with the money in their head just think they can do anything they want and get away with it.

Completely true. Fraudster Flavio, the biggest hypocrite in Formula 1, got exactly what he deserved. If I were, I would pelted him as well. :wavey:

He could close his Billionaire Club there and lay off those employees.

He probably only gave them a one year contract anyway with an extension clause based on performance  .

He landed a dingy...on a beach...and people are upset? Where the hell do they think dingies land? To assume that people with children have more rights to a public beach than people with boats is rediculous. He should have pushed back off and run up and down the surf at full speed. Sorry mommies, boats have been on the seas for centuries...the beach was not created so that spoiled children have a place to play.

no need to close down the beach flav, just go in a sling bikini and you wont need the legal stuff! [throw in some break dancing for good measure pml]

What a picture! Yes that should clear the beach!! :vomit:
