Woo, it has already started :bounce:, but I missed the opening ceremony, oh well.

I don't even know all the disciplines of the olympics, but I'm sure I'll find something interesting. I love watching swimming, I'll also be following handball and volleyball. Especially handball, since our team hasn't played in the olympics in like 25 years. I'll be sure to watch when we beat the Chinese on sunday. :D

Going to watch some sports now!

If Italy win the gold medal in football I'll be happy. They started off well by beating Honduras 3-0.

The problem for Italy is that they won't have Leo Messi in their team.

Actually Italy have Govinco who is promising to be the "Next Maradona". They are both highly talented short guys with the only difference being that Govinco is Italian instead of Argentinian.

Heard about that kid... Juventus player i think? They have a few good young Italian players. Still, it's only potential, Messi is proven at every level!

Unfortunately whenever i turn the tv on they only seem to be showing the bloody swimming :irked:

Yes Govinco is from Juventus. The best

Italy won the under 21 world cup this year. Well its the World Tournament they have in France every year and it is an under 21 competition. All countries compete in it and it is bigger than Olympic football. (Sorry I cant remember the exact name of the tournament but I can find it for you of you like?). Anyway Italy being the world champions this year at that have very much the same team at the Olympics and Govinco was a key player in the French/World tournament so he is expected to excel in the Olympics. Govinco also scored the first of 3 goals againts Honduras. :)

Toulon tournament?

Just had a quick look at the squads, on paper i'd bet on either you or the Argies to be honest. Wouldn't underestimate the Brazilians either!

That is the one, the Toulon tournament. Italy won it this year with very much the same squad they are playing in the Olympics. By the way the Italians thrashed South Korea yesterday 3-0. I saw the game live. Italy was clearly superior. So now they are in the quarterfinal as even if they lose the last group game they cant finish lower than second. Brazil, you can never under estimate Brazil. They are always strong and with a chance just like Italy and Argentina. Argentina is also through to the quarterfinal after beating Australia 1-0. I saw the highlights of that game. Could of easily been 5-0 to Argentina.
