If I were Alonso I would take it. Yes its a risk, but its only for one season and maybe he can bring up the team with Ross Brawn. Were people saying this when Schumacher left Benetton for Ferrari?

Ferrari were in a better position in 1996 than Honda are now. I think it's a bit risky... I wouldn't do it unless I was going to be there in the long run... look at Jenson's career...

Yeah thats true, but what does he got to lose? He already has 2 world championships unlike Jenson.

I suppose it's down to him. I'm not sure Honda will have made that big of steps.
They did start Kers alot earlier than the rest and have really focused on it, so they may have found something.

Well, my hopes of Rubens getting another year in the sport are close to being swept away. I doubt Renault or Toro Rosso would take him on. :(

I think he's done better than Jensen this year, I would pair up Barrichello and Alonso if I was Honda.

I don't think they would go for it, in all honesty. They'd be looking to have at least one driver who was willing to commit to them on a long-term basis and, with retirement not too far away, Barrichello can't really do that.

Man I would miss Barrichello because he is a great guy. He is also the only active driver in F1 to race against Senna, and Prost.

And a few others, too. Of the veterans, he's easily my favourite simply because he has never lost his motivation, even in such a horrible car. Yeah, if he, Trulli and Fisichella were to join DC in leaving at the end of the season, F1 would suddenly be a very strange place to me...

Sheer Insanity! Alonso would be a fool to do this. Honda has never made a good car and nobody goes from back of the grid to the front in one year. Right now Alonso looks good, he's pushing a mid-pack car up into the top runners. Theres no way he could get a Honda up there. At the level of Honda, Force India and (rip) Super Auguri the driver ceases to able to make a car look good. the opposite happens in fact, the crap car makes a good driver look bad.

Maybe Alsonso should phone Jacques Villeneuve and say' "Hello mate, I'm thinking about taking a large bag of cash to drive for Honda, how'd that work out for you?"

Yip, it will be sad to see Barrichello retire. Just as Senna was the last of his generation of drivers in 1994, Barrichello is the final link between this generation and Senna, Prost etc.. Barrichello is a really decent guy, has always worked hard, never losing his motivation, despite having to be Schumacher's tea boy and driving some awful cars before and after he joined Ferrari. Barrichello is one of those people in Formula One whose ability also deserved at least one title. It's a shame it's unlikely to happen. :(

And speaking of Senna there's some rumours this weekend in the paddock suggesting Williams and Honda are after signing Senna, and whoever gets Senna will get Petrobras backing as they want to tie with Senna. Petrobras are currently with Williams.

Senna did good at the hungaroring, he finished 3rd in both races.

Don't forget the lure emanated by sly fox Ross Brawn. His genius will be crucial in propelling Honda towards the front end of the grid come next year...

I'm not completely convinced about, or the other top guys in GP2, to be really honest. Still, finances talk and Williams need to be as savvy as they can in this department.

Yeah true, but I think Senna has the best consistency out of all the other drivers. Grosjean has great talent, but horrible consistency.
