It might sound like a silly question, but what exactly makes a supercar? A couple of us at work have been debating over what exactly constitutes a supercar and none of us agree
Is it price? Because I personally don't class things like Rolls Royces and Bentleys in the supercar category.
Is it 0-60 mph time? The Ferrari 328 does 0-60 in around 6 seconds - the BMW Z4 M Coupe has a 0-60 of around 5 seconds and it's not a supercar.
Is it the name? Because everyone seems to be classing the Alfa 8C as a supercar and yet it's "just an Alfa".
Is it the history of the marque? Lotus has a racing pedigree yet I wouldn't class most of their offerings as supercars.
The rarity? I think I've only ever seen one other Lotus Exige on the road, yet it's more a sports car than a supercar
