Well the FIA definitely needs an major overhaul.

Much of what 'Flav' says sounds right. Bernie must accept less if the teams are to spend less.
Mosely / FIA & Ferrari are the most pressing issues at the moment I would say.
Flav does mention that the fans need to be satisfied, this is the first time I have ever heard a team principal acknowledge how important the fans are to the sport.
However, how does anyone (FIA, Teams, Management) know what the fans want? do they ever ask? - not in my experience, the only way that they may do it now is to follow forums like this, but I somehow doubt that they do.

Flab has been saying this for years, the fans/entertainment bit!

Also, there have been a couple of FIA fan surveys where we could express our views on some of these aspects.

Thats interesting DD. I have never come across these FIA surveys. How does one get to be involved in these? - for future ref.

Formula One never had a superabundance of overtaking, with the possible exceptions of the 1950s and 60s. How all this talk about Formula One being boring in the last ten years surfaced I'm not sure. Perhaps it's because drivers tended to be more charismatic in the past and their personal qualities affected their enjoyment of the sport. Since then, all sports have become more serious. Perhaps it's because the tracks have got more drab in the last ten years, with the exciting, old-fashioned circuits being tamed or replaced by newer, more bland ones. Most likely, it's a combination of things.

Generally speaking, Briatore is right. Formula One needs a shake-up from top to bottom and has done so for a very long time. Even before Mosley started his campaign to get the teams to spend less money, the share of the pie Ecclestone was getting was always far too large. Thankfully, we've got by in the past, but now, because of Mosley's campaign and his move to make Formula One a more "green" sport, Ecclestone has to accept less money. Not only is this an issue, but the FIA must be cleaned up. For too long now we have seen some ludicrously inconsistent and blatantly biased decisions being made that have tarnished the name of the sport. What's the point of watching a sport which cannot stop the President of its governing body putting his personal vendettas and patriotism ahead of the championships being settled on the track? Why is it fair that certain drivers and teams are punished or hindered to boost the viewing figures for the season's finale? This is one of the reasons why people have become sick of Formula One. Briatore is also correct to say that unanimity being required before something can be done has to go. As we've seen with Ferrari, one team can stunt the development of the sport so that its own interests are looked after. The engine development freeze was a major own goal by Mosley. Teams could have been developing greener engines or fuels to power them, but instead cars are going round in ancient, highly inefficient powerplants.

If bernie and the fia and everybody moan about overtaking , then we should follow a1gp and give each driver 10-15 power boosts each race and make a rule stating that you can not use your boosts for defensive reasons, only for attacking.

They have been on the official FIA website and people will let everybody know when there's another one going on, so you'll know through this Forum 'for sure'

It's all very well doing a survey. The real test is trying to act on its findings, something the FIA have failed miserably at. Fans, journalists, commentators etc. have been telling the FIA for years what is wrong with Formula One, but they've rarely listened to a word.
