Well then why are you saying sh!te like "Team orders are banned in Formula One. If McLaren had of told Kovalainen to let Hamilton by, Hamilton would have been disqualified by now and the team punished as well"?

:banghead:

But I'll just make my vote that what McLaren did with HK is the same as when MS got priority. Any moral or procedural differences are minor details, and of no significance.

Na I can't believe that. Schumacher always had priority. Heikki will have to start yielding soon when he'll need to help Hamilton win the WDC. Right now there aint a no1 and no2 at Mclaren
Certainly if it continues into next year ... then we've got a Anthony Hamilton problem on our hands.

do you really think LH and HK have equal status at mclaren? or equal cars for that matter?

Mclaren are a one man team this season!

Kovalainen and Hamilton do have equal status in the team. Kovalainen and Hamilton do have equal cars, equipment and support. Full stop.

Everything bar support, Id agree with. You can't like 2 people exactly the same. It won't stop Ron Dennis and co wanting Heikki to win, and Mclaren do love him. But Hamilton is his protege, i'm sure he'd rather have him as champ

Of course it's impossible to treat people exactly the same. Hamilton has been at McLaren since he was a child and Ron Dennis has treated him almost like a son. Kovalainen, on the other hand, has only been at McLaren since the winter. All McLaren can do is make him feel as welcome as possible, and it's also up to Kovalainen to become involved with the team as well, something Alonso refused to do. When McLaren claim to have equality, they don't claim to have it beyond the realms of human and earthly possibilities. The fact of the matter is that Kovalainen has the same chance as Hamilton to compete for wins etc., and receives an equally good technical team, car, etc. to do so. Kovalainen has to look to mainly to himself this year for the answers as to why he is not involved in the title race.

what we saw with Lewis and Heikki has been seen many a time since team orders were banned. team mates on different strategies leading to speed differentials with one getting out of the way not to hinder the other.
this is not the classis case of team orders where one guy had a chance at a win but was told to pull aside for his team mate.
If you cant see the difference between the two scenarios then thats your own ignorance thats the problem here

This post is the pinnacle of absurdity.

This last GP only served to prove how full of it Mclaren are...they release this press release after Silverstone:

http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-mclaren-drivers-free-to-race-says-whitmarsh

Then not only do they employ team orders again, this time there can be no doubt. Its not the fact that Mclaren are using team orders, something that has been done since the stone age - it's the fact that they blatently lie about it. It's disgusting. What person with any kind of intelligence things that Hiekki just "moved over on his own" two races in a row now? He conceeded p3 to his team mate in the closing stages of a GP without putting up a fight...

I grow weary of the silver team's hypocracy.

well LH and HK are good drivers and LH is prob better but not 5 secs a lap better? HK will never win this season because he wont be allowed to unless Ham crashes out (or in).

Hiekki has sold him self out, for money and the possibility of maybe winning one race but will pay the price of probably being a number 2 driver all his career where he could of stayed at renault for one more year and learn a bit more and become a wanted number 1 driver then who knows? he had potential

Exactly, and this is why I claimed earlier that he has let himself down ;)

You really have not idea what you're talking about.

Kovalainen didn't sell anybody out. Renault forced him out because they were employing Alonso again. The one who said the team were favouring Fisichella because he was leaving the team. The one who permanently criticised and criticises the team for its poor performance. The one who's only staying at the team to put in the time. How Renault fall over themselves for Alonso is laughable. Imagine Kovalainen being paired with him. Then he would really be able to win nothing. Now stop being delusional.

LOL, don't get so onto the defensive. Laugh bout it, that's what I do.
Every topic is always about the same things. We shouldn't all be polarised. We should just rip the p**s outta the situation :P
