I'm not a massive fan as Lewis, I preferred him last year, this year he is getting to cocky for me!.

Same here Han. I root for humble drivers like Barrichello, Kubica, and Heidfeld.
o

Oh yeh, its like me with Heikki, okay hes not performing as well from such bad lucks at times, but he is kind and really apprechiates the Mclaren team and the time and effort they put into helping him succeed.

I agree M_F, his I like Mclaren stuff is all tosh!

He's young, talented, and surrounded by yes men. He shouldn't change his personalty for you or me, like him or hate him, he is what he is. To shut him up, beat him otherwise his grin will get bigger and bigger..

If he is what he is, why does he try (and fail) to cover up his personality? Hamilton is a fierce and selfish competitor. All of this "I love McLaren" act is trash.

You don't need be in love with the team! Lewis needs Mclaren because they provide thier drivers with title winning cars if they don't do that (or screw up his chances with pit wall mistakes) then he every right to criticism the team. Lewis has an ego but at the moment for me it is just about bearable but as you say it may be an act for the cameras

I never said that you had to love a team. Hamilton will only be happy at McLaren so long as they are providing him with decent equipment and money. That he was brought up through the team means nothing to him. I don't mind drivers wanting the best deal possible for themselves, but I feel that Hamilton's case is different. McLaren invested a lot of time, energy and money into Hamilton's career, so I think he owes the team respect and a decent period of time doing his best for them. As much as Ayrton Senna liked the McLaren environment and, in an ideal world, would have liked to stay had the car been up to standard (of course wanting to spend a couple of seasons at Ferrari at the end of his career), he was always open about the fact he wanted a good car and knew what he was worth. There was no acting, there was no pretence and no misunderstanding. You knew what Senna was about. With Hamilton, I'm not entirely sure I could trust him if I were running a Formula One team.

I think arrogant people in general are great, cause when they inevitably feck up bigtime it's so much sweeter.

Granted Mclaren spent a lot of money on him but look at it as a business investment. They saw potential and nurtured it and now Mclaren have got him on a 5 year contract that he should honor. But once that is up and if he feels that he needs to be at another team because he still hasn't won a world title then it's "goodbye Ron thanks for the memories!"

Not entirely sure he'd get a seat in a race-winning team if he didn't have a title by then, to be honest :P

My opinion lies strictly from what I see on the TV and I dont think Lewis is either one or atleast to the extent that make's me want to dislike him. He is a brilliant driver and will only get better I just wish he was driving for the right team  but that will happen sooner or later I hope.

What crap is this?

I'm sorry, I tried to think of something but there's absolutely no reasonable reply to such a topic, do you think an F1 driver or any sportsman in the top level of their sport might have a bit of an ego? How it comes across to fans is how well they can hide it and that is something that I would say going straight into a top team has disadvantaged him.

Id agree with that.
I see him now checking himself mid sentence. He is expected to conform to a mould he has had little time to get used to and he is not good at lying. Of course he's arrogant and has an ego. He knows how good he is. if he didnt he wouldnt be that good.

Kimi got a race seat at Ferrari after fruitless years wasted at Mclaren where he should have won a title

The secret talks with Williams? Have I been living on the moon? Didn't know about that.

I like sportsmen who are arrogant and cocky, it;s not about taking part, it's about winning. I think the difference with Hamilton is, he does it subtly. He knows he's great but at the same time tries to keep the goody goody image. That said, I like him, although I could never support him. He gets a lot of undeserved flack imo, but does need a smidgen of media training.

These"Secret talks" were before he was in F1 and he desperately wanted an F1 seat. His desire to be in F1 was justified by his results .Unfortunately these "secret talks" keep being brought up as a REALLY big deal and reason to dislike Lewis!!

Just as big a waste at McLaren was his Raikkonen himself. No effort equals no titles.

You've just contradicted yourself, Anna. Hamilton's desire to be in Formula One was so great he was prepared to give two fingers to his benefactors, therefore making Hamilton a liar: he puts himself ahead of McLaren. The end.

As you can see from Hamilton's career, McLaren knew best. If Hamilton went to Williams, where would be now? Thinking scoring a point was like winning the world championship. That Hamilton has also made so many gaffes also indicates that he was not quite ready to step up to Formula One.

I havent contradicted myself. All drivers when discussing contracts put themself first. I also doubt very muuch there was any intention to go to Williams. it was an arm twisting move to get the race seat.

You're missing the point. Its different with Hamilton because McLaren raised him and taught him everything he knows, and to just piss that away and go to another team just because you cant wait another year is greed.
