I love VW

I like them too. I'm a really love the Golf GTI. However, Porsche make faster, more glamourous cars, so they would bring more class to the part than Volkswagen.

If one can respect the overall conglomerate VW is up to par imho as they own Bugatti . Also let's not forget about VW's W8 and W12 engine's concerning the performance aspect.

The whole Volkswagen conglomerate is up to par, but if they were to enter Porsche or, as you say, Bugatti into Formula One, it would bring more glamour to Formula One. Even having Porsche's name on results table would look good.

I said nothing concerning Bugatti entering F1 my comment was in rebutal that Porsche make's more glamorous car's than some of the marques under their umbrella. It would be great to have the Porsche margue in F1.

I wouldnt say Renault have no Sole in F1 as they very much apart of the History of F1, 80s,90, 00s, they have been a major factor. And they are always pushing. like how they took over Bennetton from bottom and transformed it to the top. And Also they are a seperate string to the Renault Car manufacturer, and Renault sport. They are simply An F1 team building to win.

As for teams like Honda, Toyota & Bmw I dont think this is true. They are in it for Brand awareness.

Fair enough. It's a bit extreme to say that Renault are soulless, for they do have several periods of history in Formula One. Their staff also do pretty well on one of the lower budgets in the sport, which is one of the reason why many people have a lot of time for them. That said, because they have a lower budget, you have to question are they willing to do what it takes to win? And when Renault bought over Benetton back in 2000, Renault said that they became involved in the sport again to a large extent because of its marketing value.

They seem to be trying harder than most teams. Williams and Honda for example promise big upgrades and improvements but havnt really moved (down the pack if anything). And coming into the sport for marketing value, Isnt that why any brand in the sport is there for? I know where your getting at though saying with manufacturers coming into the sport that they are not true teams with years of pedigree and visions of old with the pit crew fasioning neckachiefs and flat caps filling water into the car radiators. And I agree with you on that. But renault are the most like a true team than other manufacturers and I belive they are pushing to be back on top and thats why I admire them. They were tottaly the underdog in 2005 against the blistering speed of mclaren and kimi and again with Ferrari and MS in 2006 but they prevailed..

that and because I have a clio :hehe::wink:

What a load of sh!t. Yes they are in it for marketing, but they are also in it too win as with Renault.

You're saying Williams and Honda are moving down if anything? Thats total b.s. If anything, the biggest loser this year is Renault. They went from World Champions in 06 to an average team in 07, and now a team that can barely get into the points. If Honda is so bad then why are they only one point behind Renault? Your last 2 posts are anything but true and frankly, just stupid.

Last time I checked, having been employed by a manufacturer, marketing and brand awareness are one in the same right? Also one could deem your opinion Rivelution as a load of sh!t so why be so narrow minded?

I dont agree that they have been trying harder than other team's they just seem to have found a 'click' within the team and the driver's that has corresponded to better race result's. I luv and respect all the team's but can appreciate one over the over when their race result's prove they have found the 'click'.

Would you say my replie's to your post are stupid because they may not or do not agree with your outlook? My opinion, see how I worded that in a non-you suck way, is that William's has not improved compared to the beginning of the season and well Honda is still adjusting to Brawn's guidance because their chassis is still crap and the only reason Ruben's had such a great result last week was due to his experience by choosing the full wet tire's.

ok you just cut the end of one sentance and made it look bad on BMW. I like BMW but it depends on how long there gonna kick around for. same for renault I hope they do stay around.

as for renaults season this year. I would say we have the 4th best car but reliability has hampered our season. but were scoring on a regular basis now. Piquet too! :) hopefully we can nab that 4th place before the end

4th in the WCC would be a huge moral builder for the team yet there are still have alot of race's to go so 3rd may be a possibility.

I'm not being narrow minded. In fact I think its narrow minded to say that Renault have so much more soul towards racing then BMW, Williams, and Honda when you cant prove that or back it up. To say that the only reason Honda scored that podium was because of Rubens' choice to go to full wets is like saying the only reason Renault have points this year is because of Alonso, which is true. I admit I was bit harsh as DD would say, and I apologize.

Are Renault trying harder than other teams. BMW are doing very well; Honda, whilst they've got it wrong somewhere, are still committed to doing well; Toyota are trying, but have some many internal problems, their development has been hindered; and Red Bull are starting to do well now as well. Williams, a privateer, may be struggling, but the team still has a lot of history behind it. It's true that history has to be made - Ferrari never had a history once upon a time - but the motivations for Ferrari becoming involved in Formula One and, say, Renault becoming involved in Formula One are completely different. Ferrari are passionate about racing, but Renault want to shift more cars. No amount of trying can really change that taint.

OI! I drive a VW and it can be quite sporty at times. Why, I once got it up to over 90mph... :hehe:

As for a return for VW, as far as I'm aware they've never been in F1.

And if anything Renault's best days this year have been in qualifying with Alonso quite often going for a 3 stop strategy in the race (which ends up failing).

Honda have moved forward from last year, their cars were always being passed by Super Aguri's. And then Nick Fry throws a strop and pulls the plug on them.

He's turned into a right Little Hitler. He was prancing around the paddock thinking he's the dog's balls once again this weekend.
